Introduction: I have been vaping since last Tuesday (Oct 13th). I have been vaping Cappuccino (11mg) exclusively. I had ordered Kamel and Mint also – but nic level was too strong. So, I thought I would try low level of nic on my next order. Also, wanted to try other purported tobacco flavors + some other flavors that caught my eye.

Test procedures/parameters:
  • Initially, brushed teeth w/regular Crest toothpaste. No mouthwash.
  • Swigged Dr. Pepper (I know, but I can’t stand water) between each set of vapes.
  • Sniffed coffee beans (regular no flavor) between each set of vapes.
  • Vapes consisted of 4 “puffs” total. 2 puffs with mouth exhale and 2 with nose exhale.

Hilton (8mg) – Nutty initial odor and flavor. That’s the best I can come up with for a description. It’s not exactly nutty just reminiscent. There is another flavor hanging in there, only get “whiffs” of it occasionally – can’t place it.

Cool (8mg) – Light menthol/Mintish flavor. Whereas, Mint hits you in the gut (description of flavoring not effect), Cool breezes by you, hinting at wintergreen.

555 (8mg) – Lighter nutty initial odor and flavor. Quite similar to Hilton – except lighter.

Clove (8mg) – Smells and tastes like potpourri. Not reminiscent of any clove cigs that I can remember.

Chocolate (8mg) – I am a chocolate lover – milk to midrange Cacao. I can’t tell you if this is more on the milk side or the dark side though. Not enough flavor coming through to tell. Not reminiscent of any chocolates I’ve eaten.

Cinnamon (8mg) – Not cinnamon flavor. Tastes more like mixed-berry. Flavor also really light.

Pear (8mg) – Kind of citrusy but very light on flavor.

Thanks for this. Can I ask which ones you liked?

Okay - I know what people are going to say after this response to your request..."You just quit cigs your taste buds aren't back in business yet, they were dulled by cigs, etc etc etc." I have to inform everyone, that my taste buds, even on cigs, were excellant. I could distinguish flavors/spices in foods that many of my non-smoking family and friends could not, even if it was a small amount mixed within others. I am however, setting some of these aside to vape in a month (hopefully they will still be good in a month) to make sure it's not my taste buds, but the flavors that are off.

Anyways, to answer your query. I liked Cool, Pear, and Chocolate. I did not like any of the tobacco flavors as they tasted nutty to me. I don't associate tobacco flavor with nuts, and the nutty flavor I tasted in them I did not like. But...all the flavors needed more of a flavor boost - except Mint. I can however, vape them all day because I don't get overloaded with sweetness (I don't have much of a sweet tooth).

Hope this helps. :)

Haha, I know what you mean actually- I have a terrific sense of taste (and smell for that matter). I quit smoking twice (for 1+ yr each time) and my sense of smell/taste never got better. It was what it was.

Thanks for the post!

I also have a hard time with the tobacco flavors - none of them seem to "do it" for me. On the other hand, I LOVE the cappuccino, coffee, chocolate, beer, peach cobbler and raspberry. I also LOVE the V4L banana refill. That is just yummy and I can't wait for him to get the banana cartos in! Some of the faves of others just don't do it for me, so I am sticking with what I love and will try the occasional new flavor. I did like the almond joy, but it was a subtle taste. I would probably love it if it were a bit stronger. I will order it again, but it isn't on my "must have" list yet. I imagine it will grow on me though...

Nice reviews.

I agree with your Hilton and 555 comments. I like both of these but not enough to vape all day. They are more nutty than a cigarette should taste.

For tobacco / cigarette flavors I prefer Marlboro, Virginia, and Flu Cured in that order. None of them really taste like a cigarette, they just remind you of one.

I hope you find a winner to settle on. Let us know when you do.
