0.0 means there's a short. Most ProTanks come with a spare head. If you have one, try changing it out (remove the bottom, unscrew the long stem from the base, the entire inner part should come along with it). If a replacement head doesn't fix it, that probably means there's some internal damage to the protank somewhere in the threading area. Do other atomizers work on your Vamo? If they do, then there would be a problem in the ProTank.

Ahh that's great its working well for you I'm envious I have a vamo2 and protank but can not get that thing to vape, I've gone through 4 packs of heads (2 were for the EVOD but said they worked on protanks too) from 2 different vendors and all it does is gurgle and leak. Even the heads that came with it didn't work right. The first one burnt and the 2nd didn't work at all it read 9.9 on the vamo screen. Either I'm cursed with the worst luck or I'm doing something reeaally wrong with it. Does anyone know what the "mode #1" on the vamo is supposed to be used for? The guy at the vape shop I bought it from said to never use that mode  I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. Could the protank I got just be a dud?

Mode one is average/mean, mode two is RMS, I forget the electrical differences but in general RMS mode is going to put out a more accurate (based on the settings) voltage/wattage, where-as mode one apparently pumps out a higher power level than you've set. Why they even included the option, I don't know, I think the V3 switched to RMS-only because they got sick of people not understanding why they were getting higher voltages than what they set on the screen.

from what i can tell the no1 setting is like a boost,at the beginning it will give an extra bit of ;power to get the head to heat up faster, it is not as controlled as no2 but with some heads and thick juice it works pretty good, this is just what i have noticed with my setup, i think it may conserve a bit of battery life as well. the evod heads should work fine just make sure the centre posts are the same size and that when you are screwing the bottom cap back down it isnt difficult, there are some of the crappier fake heads that will crack the centre tube and ruin the tank

9.9 means it isn't making contact. Make sure the head is screwed in all the way on your protank. And be careful attaching your tank to the vamo. You want to stop as soon as its snug. If you tighten it too much, the center post can get pushed in. Is the vamo working with everything else?

Protank is not a Dud
You have probably collapsed your Grommet under the center pin of the Vamo. (See Vamo sub-forum for fix)
0.0 means short
9.9 means open/no contact

You can try carefully lifting the Vamo center pin with a tiny screwdriver or bent paper clip

Usage of e-cig deliver devices - SNUG TO CONTACT - Stop

No1 is unregulated - Full Power pulsing to achieve set request
NO2 is Regulated to give a much smoother power pulse and more controlled output.
No reason to ever use no1

Just did this today myself as I over tightened a 510/eGo adapter on my V2, took five minutes tops and I re-used the stock o-ring after cutting it to get it wedged in there better. No further issues at this time, so I'd say that's a pretty good tutorial for fixing the issue.

I'm having the same problem with my protank. I have the ego cone cover for dctank and it works great with my vivi nova. Every time I put my protank on my vamo reads 9.9 ohms. Then I bought a 510 to ego adaptor which the protank works on but I'm afraid that the bottom of the protank will come off which is why I bot the ego cover for. Does anyone have any tips or advice for me to get my protank and vivi nova to work on my ego cone cover? The YouTube video for the cover says it will work for both but I have yet to see it happen.
