Hi all, I'm posting this here because I'm not sure if it should be under the Vamo section or tanks section. Mods feel free to move this if it belongs somewhere specific.

I just got my Vamo V2 today, and I also ordered a couple of Boge F16 tanks. The tanks come with Boge 1.8 ohm cartos. The juice I'm vaping is an 85/15 PG/VG blend. Even with the Vamo set at 3v I feel like the throat hit is exceptionally harsh. I've been vaping for a few weeks now, my last setup being an eGo-c. I'm curious if anyone has any input on what could be causing the harsh throat hit, including it being my first day with a mod.

I feel like the LR carto may be to blame, but being that this is my first experience with a mod and a carto tank, I'm looking for advice.

I use the F16 tanks, and they been holding up well. Sounds like, maybe you're not prepping the carto with juice before you start vapeing ? I use a 60pg 40vg blend juice. I also use these cartos in all my tanks. I like them. AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Boge Prepunched Cartomizers - Cartomizers - Accessories

I thought I prepped it properly. I plugged the air tube gently with a toothpick, added about 6 drops, waited a few minutes and repeated until it seemed like it wasn't absorbing anymore. Seeing your other reply, I'll try it again, this time without inhaling. Maybe that was my mistake.

I also have 15 of those cartos on the way. They should be here on Monday. I saw you recommend them in another thread when I was doing some research earlier today. Thanks for the info.

I've been using a Boge F16 Tank with its cartos for about six months now, on all kinds of devices including my Vamo, and usually at around 8.0 Watts (or 3.68 Volts).

Though they seem to snap, crackle, and pop a good deal, they've always worked very well for me. I do saturate them pretty well. With the carto in the empty tank, I fill the carto itself until the juice starts weeping out of the holes in the carto and into the tank. Then, I fill the tank and vape away.

Of dozens of cartos, I've probably only had 2 or 3 that were duds. I've had so much success with them, that I've taken to using them in my U-DCT Tanks instead of the CE2 DCT-2 No Filler Pre-Punched Cartos intended for those tanks.

I find that once the F16 cartos are nice and saturated, they work really well. I've got an F16 tank and carto on my eVic right now that I've been vaping for almost two weeks.

I use the Boge F16 tanks all the time. It's a really nice tank. The cartos that came with were a bit too low resistance for me. I use a pretty strong menthol juice 85pg/15vg. I found when I got 3 ohm...or standard SC cartos..things went better and I could use a wider range of voltages. My VV devices are the VV Gripper and the Ovale V8...I imagine the PWM is similar to the Vamo. Try a higher res carto. I think you'll like it better. Hubby had the same experience. He usually likes 1.7ohm SC, but found the vape a bit harsh, even on 3volts with his V8. Did better with higher ohm.

Hi Micheal,

I agree with Fourthrok.

Sadly, the Vamo doesn't like Low Resistance. Higher Res' atomisers above 2.2Ω are recommended but not all is lost.
You can still use your 1.8Ω carto all you need to do is change your setting from N01 AVG Mode to RMS Mode NO2.
Set your Vamo to Watts and see if that changes things. It won't be ideal, but it may taste a little better.

Opt for higher res next time. I have 3Ω DC and Single coil carto's and they vape fantastic on the Vamo.

In AVG Mode NO1, Vamo vapes will be harsher irrespective of atomiser resistances and very similar to Gripper VV's PWM.

If you don't know how to change the settings full instructions can be found here:
Vamo V2 User Manual

Since I'm already running in RMS mode, I'll try playing around with the wattage.

I have an order of 3Ω Boge XLs coming on Monday, along with a tank tool. I'm going to attempt hot swapping the carto using the Ocelot method. I'll probably make a mess and spill juice, but I'll chalk it up to experience. I'm just really excited to experience the awesomeness that seems to be carto tanks.

I use LR T2's on my vamo in NO2 mode, no problems. I hope my F16 arrives today, should have been yesterday. Can't wait to try it.

I'm guessing that in my case it's a combination of the carto and the juice that I'm vaping. It could also be that it's just too harsh of a TH for my liking.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some vape mail today. I have all mine delivered to work so I don't have to wait until I get home to start playing.

I know everyone is jumping on the tanks etc, but what is your nic level? I wasnt getting the same clouds from my other devices, so i think with a nice solid Mod with a good battery you really push your tanks harder, so something that has the perfect hit in a ego c at 18mg, you may find harsher on a vamo with a good tank. So you may be inclined to reduce your nic a bit.

This really only makes sense if you are sure you arent tasting burnt wick or getting dry hits etc. But in my experience the same nic levels will give more hit in devices that can create more vapor in a puff, as it should =) I use 24mg in my vamo and 36mg in my eroll, and they feel about the same for example, and yes i like to really destroy my throat...
