hello folks! so today i visited a local e-cig shop they have sooo many devices i tried out a few.
i said i was new to vapor and only had some starter kits and wanted something better.

they said a "vamo v2" would be the next logical step. so i said yeah!
so i got a stainless vamo "v2" with "upgraded golden spring"
pile charger
2 panasonic 18650
metal tank nova vivi

got home, charged and rested the batteries for a few hours.
after chain puffing for a couple of minutes, the bottom cap and top of the tube started to get warm then kinda hot along with the tank
is that normal?

No, not in my (limited) experience. If the Metal Vivi Nova gets hot from chain vaping, the heat can/will transfer to the top of the vamo, but I have never had a hot bottom cap. Since you bought it today and locally, I would bring it back and have them look at it to make sure there is no problem with it. Better safe than sorry.

I suggest taking both the Vamo and the batteries back to where you bought them if you bought them from the same place.
Also - the batteries you need with a Vamo are IMR -or the Panasonic CGR18650CH which is a hybrid and is also called IMR. They are a safer chemistry and designed to handle high drain.

what voltage is your VAMO set at? and are you in Mean mode or RMS mode?

I don't see how the mode would cause the heat issue. People can still vape a VAmo in AVG (NO 1) - it just fires harder than the displayed setting.
The issue sounds more like a battery problem or a problem with the unit. The spring should prevent this happening - but its still heating up. Possibly just needs another spring.

i have it set at n02, the vivi reads 1.8 ohms, so im between 3.3, 3.7v tops. the vapor is great but still gets kinda warm/hot-ish after a few minutes. the device doesn't seem to have any visual defects. the battery im using is indeed a cgr185650ch.

Mods can get a bit warm from being held in the hand. If its really hot then that's another matter. The battery should be ok - you can always test it with a multimeter to be sure. It sounds like the spring may be too resistant, even tho its a gold one. You could try replacing it with a better spring.
This post has a list of three places that sell good springs you can use:

Or just take it back and have the vendor fix the issue.

Mine gets blazing hot just to the right and below the firing button. So hot it burns my hand so I'm not going to use it anymore. If I set the power over 6.5w it shuts down. Take the battery cap off and lower it and it works. I think the heat is coming from the casing below the firing button, where it looks like it should come apart. I have several different batteries, doesn't matter which I use. It overheats there.

Here's a similar complaint: Another Vamo Getting Very Hot Near Top of Battery | ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK

Unfortunately I didnt use mine for a couple weeks after buying it so I'm sure it can't be returned. I've had it a couple months now.
