I've just bought a Vamo. Been vaping for just over a year now and it's my first mod. I looked into the evic too but I honestly couldn't see a use for the extra features. I love tech and can see how the enhanced features could help some people -especially the 'track your usage' feature- but I couldn't justify it for my own use. The father of my kids loves the Vamo. He actually uses it more than I do. He's using it with ego CC clearomisers and gets great flavour/vapour.

I tried it with a Kanger MT3 cartomiser and for some reason I can't get the flavour to come through. I lowered the volts in steps until 3.7 without success - then started lowering the watts but ...yeah I kinda got scared cause I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to watts. I'm actually reading around on this board to try and find a good tutorial on the Vamo but, what I can say so far is that I'd recommend the Vamo over the eVic for sure. Even if only because of the lower price. It's a great place to start. If you decide you like the VV/VW mods then you can always buy an eVic down the line.

I'd vote Vamo. IMO, it's the best bang for your buck vv/vw device out. Has an option to switch to RMS. Nice bright screen and built well. One thing I would change about it is it's size, even in 350 mode it is still the size of a standard Provari.

A few of my friends have the evic and I have messed with them a decent amount of times. Evic just feels like it'll break too easily (one of my friends actually did break it, top section above the screen broke off) .

I like how the Evic looks though, just wish it had better build quality. It does look really nice when in 350 mode.

this sounds incredibly NOOB-like but i honestly don't know how to use my evic. i think i've used it, eh, maybe 10 times since i purchased it. i was so intrigued by it when i first noticed the promo and maybe i didn't do enough research before using it.
it didn't recognize my atomizer when i tried using the tabac bcc and the vapour tastes burnt 90% of the time.
i think i've tried 3 or 4 different types of clearomizers on it and played around with the settings but it just doesn't work for me.

any suggestions would be marvelous.

Vamo all the way. Easy simple power-house. I love it. Been a great mod. I got the black chrome. Feels well built, I love the built multimeter, Ohm checker, battery checker it's just great. I've been using mine for close to a month and been nothing but happy with it. I don't get why some people think they're "ugly" I think the finish is quite purty if you ask me. If I didn't like how it looked i would of never gotten it of course!

Lowering volts and lowering watts do the same thing. (Lowering one lowers the other and vice versa.)

The "common wisdom" is that 8W tends to be great for most people, but I go 6.5-8 depending on my (limited selection) of juices. YMMV.

Looking at the chart: (Atty ohms on the left, Voltage on the top, Watts in the boxes)
Ohn8o.png

The advantage to variable wattage is that you can decide "I love 7W vapes" and just set it. Put a 2.8ohm atty on? It'll automatically set around 4.4 volts. Switch to a 1.8ohm atty? If you forget to change the settings on a VV it'll burn out (10+ Watts!) A VW device will detect the change and automatically switch to around 3.8 volts.

Basically, a VV device automatically adjusts wattage to match the selected voltage. A VW device adjusts voltage to match the wattage.. Does that make sense? (There are electrical reasons VV is easier to make than VW but that is neither here nor there..)

I decided to go eVIC, but that was because you can set ramps - eg "1/2 second 8 watts, then 7W for 3, then 5W for the remaining time".. My novas seem to need some warm-up time to get to the best flavor, so I'm hoping I can build a profile that will do that.

+1 for a vamo...I LOVE MINE! though the evic deal from vaportek is tempting me to try out the evic :x

The vamo gives you more flexibility in power...the evic has more bells and whistles. Just make sure if you get a vamo to get a good battery and dispose of the unprotected china battery. Panasonic, Efest or AW all the way.

I'm still pretty noobish with the whole vape thing, but I did get an evic a couple of weeks ago and liked it up until it broke (which was completely my fault). I did find my self accidentally hitting the selector ring from time to time which changed the voltage. If they had a software feature to "lock" the selector ring or something it would have been sweet. I'm interested to see what custom firmware brings to the device. I have had no experience with the Vamo.

Thats why im waiting on the MID ONE .

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2

Really?
I had high expectations for the MiD, but that's was brought down when details of the device started to appear.
Now, When I see things like this, I just think everybody at Janty has gone insane:

I just got my evic and it is so wonderful. I got my great deal from Vaportekusa and it was way cheaper than any other and it is genuine product from joyetech. tell them Bobby Kitchens sent you and he will treat you right.

You got your eVic already? I ordered mine a couple nights ago and on the evic page they mentioned that it wasnt comming in for awhile. But you cant really beat 70 bucks shipped. And thats 20 bucks for than alot of other sites that sell the VAMO.

Mine is otw from MFS - shipped pretty much immediately. Unfortunately USPS left it laying around and pushed the delivery back till Fri :(

With 10% coupon it was $95 & free shipping.
