A couple of days ago, I had my second Vamo crap out on me in a little over 2 months. I am very disappointed, as I honestly love my Vamo and know that they have a history of being super reliable. This is, however, the same issue I had the first time. Unfortunately, this time I have no warranty to cover it. There is an o-ring around the contact point on the device itself, and it just randomly popped out.

This is the o-ring:

and this is the groove it is supposed to sit in (the deeper area around the center post):

The first time it happened was (at least partially) my own stupidity and inexperience (this is my first APV) because I threaded a tank on too tight. It happened only hours after getting it, so the warranty from VaporBeast covered it. Since I got my replacement, I have been SUPER careful to thread it on only until very, very gently snug. It was working extremely well for 2 months, and then out of the blue it happened again.

I emailed VaporBeast to see if anything could be done, and unfortunately it is not covered. Tim is a straight up dude and offers some of the best customer service I have ever had. He said he could try to fix it for me, but I wanted to check in here to see if anyone could offer any assistance before I spend the cash to ship it in and hassle him with the issue.

I was thinking about attempting to superglue it, but then common sense slapped me in the face and I figured inhaling that may be harmful to my health. I also wondered if it may have some effect on the electrical connection (not sure on that one). I have tried everything I can think of to get it to re-seat in the groove, but it simply will not stay in place. Fortunately, until my new APV arrives, some of my Ego threaded stuff will still work. Not all, however, and also nothing in 510 threads will work at all (2 of my favorite flavors are in 510 tanks, both of which still worked on my brother's ego batteries when I went to visit him).

I'd love to salvage it if at all possible. Maybe I am being dumb and there is an easy fix. I certainly hope so. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you pop the top off of the vamo, you can replace the worn out insulator with one from inside the bottom of a cartomizer. If you're careful not to damage the wires, no soldering will be needed.

I just did this with mine a few hours ago using a burnt out boge 510 carto to scavenge the insulator from. Perfect fit.

Edit: Actually, you might be able to get the post to pull up through the hole and not even have to pull the top cap off the device. Pull the post and wire through the hole and pull the old insulator out. Then slip the new insulator over the post and wire, and wiggle it into the groove that it sits in. Use some vg to lube it, and try to get the post to slide down into the hole without falling out of it's grooves.

It's small fiddly work, but can be done with some patience.
