The improvements on the V5 over the V2 are
- better bottom cap spring
- 37 hertz chip vs the original 33
- new led display
- new menu system
- removable top
For me the selling point was the removable top, not because I cared about attaching ego threaded attys but it makes it super easy to clean around the 510/ego connection. No more looking in that crevice a Q-tip won't even fit in and attempting to get the juice out of there.

It does not come with the device, I think you can get it separately and set your device to mobile out to charge your phone/tablet/other devices if you need to.
There are 510 connector devices out there that might work with the V5's continuous mode. To get into that mode you hold down the right button for about 5 to 10 seconds after you see the ohms level. Now you don't want a clearomizer or some other thing with a wick in it as the only way to stop it is to turn it off.
Yeah I may have gotten the two confused. I knew one of them had that option.
