So I've been looking into getting a Vamo for about a week now; and during my research I stumbled across the amazing world of RBAs. I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that might happen to sell a Vamo+rba kit?

As of right now I'm planning on getting getting Vamo Variable Volt/Watt APV (Black Chrome) V2.0 Kit - High Desert Vapes as it is the cheapest Vamo kit that I have found that's not from china so I do not have to worry about long shipping times+ possible delays.

Does anyone know of a better place to go, and possibly a good, cheap, rba for beginners(Preferably a kit)?

I got my black chrome vamo today from vaporbreak (China). I went to P.O. and picked it up. I was worried about it's condition after reading some horror stories. I may have gotten lucky. No physical flaws except for a little white spot on the bottom of the screen. Connection looks straight and it has the new gold spring. No rattle whatsoever, not even the buttons (may change if they loosen up a bit). But for $31.00 shipped and just a 10 day wait, i'll take it. I loaded a fully charged panasonic 18650, put on a nova tank (1.8 ohm), made sure I was in NO2 mode, clicked to 9 watts, fired her up and vaped away. I have to say, I am loving it.

As far as your question, I shopped around and never found a vamo/RBA kit. But great choice on the vamo! Only negative is I should have ordered sooner!

I bought 4 panasonic 18650 batteries for $26 from amazon. They are very good quality and I wanted full size vamo without stacking 18350s. Check out vaporjoes. They have a lot of awesome deals on anything vapor related and I have bought a ton of stuff off there. In my opinion, stay away from any mod kit. They typically come with sub par batteries and chargers. Please do not skimp on batteries and charger (I cannot stress that enough). I have a trustfire TR-001 charger but am looking to upgrade to a Nitecore i4 charger very soon.

If you really want a Vamo "kit" here you go. I don't know why these kits are only including one battery... buy at least a second. Use "May10" to take 10%. Flat rate shipping of $1.99 "Will ship Priority mail." This is where I got my Vamo, very happy customer!

Combo Specials

BUT I highly recommend that you consider spending a few more dollars and building your own kit. Buy the Vamo body separately (Exhalevapors probably still has the best price, in the states anyway, as well as color options), buy some quality batteries and a quality charger. The eFest batteries are OK... AW or Panasonic CGR18650CHs will be much better. Google a bit for the Nitecore Intellicharge i4 2nd Generation for pretty close to the same price as the charger in most "kits". It's also sold under the brand name "Sysmax". Better technology, safer, faster charge times.

RBAs are really an advanced device never recommended for beginners. That's why you will never find them in a kit. If you really want one the AGA-T2 is probably the best "bang for your buck" right now. You might consider the Smok RSST too (check Exhalevapors for that one as well). You will need kanthal wire and #400 or #500 stainless steel mesh too.

Welcome to ECF!

I just found this kit and was going to say this one is acceptable. Comes with good battery and good charger. But +1 on the panasonic batteries and Nitecore i4 charger. Pull the trigger Whorkitty!

Hm a 31$ price tag is tempting. How much was the total after batteries and a charger? That's honestly the biggest reason I'm looking at a kit.

Really, since it sounds like you don't mind ordering from China then look at Fasttech for batteries and charger too.

Here is the Nitecore (read all of it for a discount code) for just under $20, shipped: http://.........blogspot.com/2013/02/sysmax-intellicharge-i4-v2-26650-10440.html?spref=fb

These are some of the best batteries you can buy, and a smoking price too ($20 for four, after code). CPASTE13SPRING to take 5% off:
$10.03 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I have to second what Oktyabr said ... RBAs are really not recommended for beginners ... are you sure this is where you want to start? I'm not saying it's impossible but it would be difficult for you to gauge performance not having any experience with other delivery systems, not to mention the possible frustration factor should you encounter issues. Clearos, cartos, tanks, etc are relatively cheap and some of those are even rebuildable. It might be a better starting point ... imho

It's $26.99 if you register on the site..
$34 for the kit at vapor break. Again, it will be a long lead time unless you choose DHL shipping ($35)
They have RBA's there also at a good price. ..

I've been using some pretty standard clearos/tanks, and vivis for a few months now and enjoy them, I would just like to move onto bigger and better things. Also one of the allures of a rba is the challenge and reward they offer.

I will definitely look into that, thank you Oktyabr. This is going to sounds pretty crazy and pretty noobish, but I understand that the batteries are important, but what exactly do they change? Also how does something like DID Clone Rebuildable Atomizer - High Desert Vapes ? Also thanks for the welcome! =)

$8.97 at VB.. verses $16.99

Even if you get it all at Vapor break and choose DHL shipping, you should have it in less than 9 days(7 for me) and Still saved a little bit of cash.

(of course, someone is going to say something about quality control and other things. It's the same thing you would find at HDV...)

Not all batteries are created equal. There are even rumors of some much cheaper brands simply being recycled out of old lap top batteries with a brand spanking new label stuck to them. Some are labeled far in excess of what they will actually provide, your "mah" rating, which can roughly be translated to one hour of use per 100 mah. Other batteries, even though they are labeled as 'safe' chemistry really aren't, and can be a true safety (and fire) hazard. Entirely true or not there is a bit of fireside wisdom that sooner or later you might end up reading around here that goes "Never buy anything with 'fire' in the brand name." :p

The Panasonics are the only battery (that I am aware of) that are made in Japan instead of China. Many believe the AW's to be just as good, if not perhaps better, while others swear the AWs are just Panasonics with different wrappers on them. Either way you will find that out of all the brands of batteries out there that there are only a few that are often touted on these forums... usually for good reasons.

Never used that DID clone myself. One advantage of the AGA-T2 is it is one of few RBAs that use pyrex instead of plastic for the tank. Some juices have a reputation as eating, cracking or melting plastic tanks. Pyrex is good for any juice you can put in it. ;)

Ah I understand abit better now, I definitely like the fact the AGA-T2 is pyrex as some of the liquids I have been looking at ordering have been known to cloud or crack normal plastic tanks. Looks like I have some more research to do before I bite the bullet!

RBA/RDAs for newbs? Why not? Good preparation, attention to detail, some basic knowledge of coil materials and wicks, and some manual dexterity are all it takes. Rather than a Genny, I would suggest an inexpensive RDA like an IGO-L, a Phoenix clone, a Pegasus, etc...just to achieve success rather quickly and then move on to mesh, etc.

I was in the same spot as the OP a couple of weeks ago. Total newbie to vaping but after some research i wanted a Vamo and a RBA to start because i knew i would want more than an Ego battery + clearomizer fast :p

I have one RSST rba now that worked flawlessly from the very first time, you just have to check vids on youtube and be careful to do everything.(oxidize mesh, look for hot spots on the coil, etc).

Im also waiting for an AGA-T+ on the mail, right now i can recommend the RSST because it has insulation on the wick hole plus the plastic tank will help a newbie to not short something with the wick touching the tank. But im looking forward to the AGA-T+ for its pyrex tank. So i think having 1 of each could be a nice balance depending on what you're vaping.
