First off I would like to say this is my first apv however I have tried a few others including the itaste mvp, innokin svd, and previously owned multiple ego type 900mah batteries.
I also haven't noticed a specific v3 review on these forums so I figured I would give it an honest try, anyways into the review.
My initial thoughts on the v3 vamo were that it fell pretty nice in my hand in terms of its diameter, not overly large, nor was it excessively small. Length however is a different ball game. This device is relatively tall especially in 18650 mode in which it sits even higher than the vamo v2 when compared side by side. This leads to the device being slightly cumbersome and difficult to conceal, however I purchased it as an at home mod so this doesn't bother me too much.
However, this height lends to the vamo becoming top heavy especially with any sort of tank system sitting atop of it and it easily falls over while sitting on a desk if bumped. I've learned to become careful in my placement of the device, but I also realize that this is very annoying and potentially puts glass tanked atomizer systems in jeopardy of breaking from the slight fall.
Lets move on to the positives of the device.
First off I only use variable wattage mode on my device because I find it more hassle free. I switch tanks and flavors often and it's nice to know I will get a pretty consistent vape using the wattage settings. The ease of switching setting becomes second nature and I really enjoy the fact that I can check my resistance, voltage, wattage, and the charge of my battery in a few seconds. I have had maybe one missfire from the device in the time that I have had it (three weeks) and that was most likely user error. I like that when changing batteries it remembers my recent wattage or voltage settings depending on which type I was using last . The start up time and menu navigation both seem adequately fast and overall pleasant. The buttons feel nice and sturdy and seem like they will last along time. I also enjoy that they are made of some sort of metal (maybe brass) and it gives a nice quality to the usage of this device. The removable top cap ring is a nice addition for cleaning, but it comes loose sometimes and is otherwise a useless addition in my opinion as it hinders the device aesthetically.
Negatives I have found besides the high center of gravity issue are that I cannot completely flush mount a tank to the device. The tiny gap just bugs me a little bit. The oled screen is also difficult to read in strong sunlight but otherwise very functional and pleasingly dim through menu scrolling when compared to led screen of other variable voltage devices and the v2 vamo. Another drawback is the odd twisting design made throughout the device. The swirls just seam to breakup at odd points throughout the device however I have covered mine with a skin recently and that has rectified this issue for me. The biggest negative for me is that the chrome plating is relatively thin and I really liked the gun metal grey look however after only a few weeks time I notice large spots of chrome wearing off which is why I purchased a skin. If I was to buy another v3 vamo I would purchase the stainless steal version of the device for a few dollars more.
Overall I find that the device preforms very well for my need and would recommend it to any vaper old or new as its a good dependable mod that does what its suppose to and does it simply and well.
Thank You for reading my first review and feel free to leave me comments if you have any further questions about my experiences with the Vamo v3 or advice in giving a thorough and honest review.
Cheers
Matt
