Okay so I'm getting a vamo v5 from fasttech, I'm trying to find the biggest mah 18650 battery I can, I've found some on ebay but not sure if I should use them. Will these be okay?? (won't let me post a link on my phone) Ultra Fire TR 18650 4500mAh 3.7V Rechargeble Battery CR it's on ebay foe like 2 bucks

Generally speaking, most vapers avoid batteries with "fire" in the name.

Also, on the candlepower forums, there's a discussion about some fake and cheap Ultrafires on Ebay. They claim that Ultrafire does not make 18650's over 3000 mAh, and some of these batteries are testing out under 1000 mAh.

Go through one of ECF's trusted vendors. RTD Vapor would be my go-to for new batteries.

No, wrong battery for vaping use, those are protected ICR cells.

You need high drain IMR / hybrid safer chemistry unprotected batteries for APV's.
I'd look for batteries with at least a 10a CDR for a vamo, mah isn't as important as the continuous discharge rate & chemistry of the battery.

Batteries are not a good/smart place to try and save money.
Chose the correct battery for your application and only buy from reputable vendors / dealers.

+1 on the recommendations by K_Tech & Topwater Elvis

You need a IMR (Li-Mn) or IMR/Hybrid safe-chemistry, high-drain battery. Check out a blog post by Baditude (our resident battery/safety expert) regarding batteries and chargers. CDR (continuous discharge rate) is the number you need to be looking at.

Battery Basics for Mods
- choose the safest and right battery for your applications here. Includes a list of name brand, high-drain, safe-chemistry batteries with mAh & amp ratings in 18350, 18490/18500, and 18650 sizes.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
