Before you do anything too drastic I would insert the battery again and give it a firm push to make sure it's making contact at the top. Also make sure the bottom spring will keep enough tension so the battery stay's in contact all times. My Vamo tube is a little tight with some batteries and you have to make sure they feed in all the way to the contact post.

The beauty of the Vamo V5 is can ususally be fixed for less than $12 if you can run a soldering iron. It's the Ford Pinto of mods

That's what I did in these days. I make sure the batts are making contact, and still no response. I'm pretty sure.
With my multimeter, i checked the current flowing from the negative pole of the batteries to the chasis of the mod, and i can read about 2uA, more or less.
Before it died completely, one of the times i was checking this, the Vamo started up while i was reading, and i could get a read of 2mA or so.

It has a recessed button. What does it need a locking ring for?
I didn't notice that before. Maybe is enough. I'm afraid that the button may be fired accidentally while we carry it inside the handbag.

Anyway, it's already shipped. I'll see how it works.

Didnt those explode when rear ended?

This is precisely why I dont recommend that anyone buy a mod like the Vamo.

You shouldnt have to try and fix something purchased brand new after just a few days. By the time you add up the time spent trying to fix it and the accompanying frustration, youd be better off spending twice as much or more initially and getting something that lasts....and wont leave you contemplating going back to smoking.

Just don't rear end your mod!

There are thousands upon thousands of Vamo's out there giving great service to the people that actually use them. Yes, some break and yes, people complain about it when they do. So do a lot of other VV/WW mods. I'm still using the very first Vamo I bought almost a year ago and when/if it breaks I can fix it for less than $12. You can spend twice, three times the money and still end up with a mod that doesn't work. It happens all the time. Even worse, a mod that you can't get parts for. I own 3 Vamo's and have never had any trouble out of any of them. I wore the head out on the first one I bought recently. It cost a total of $10.50 to fix (parts and shipping.)

You can buy a Vamo V5 for less than the price of 4 packs of smokes!

Yes, I like Vamos very much. It's clear that people have problems with them but at the price they sell at they're a great device. I too have three of them.

Perhaps the OP might give some thought to the MVP v2? Reasonably priced and very reliable imho.

The problem with MVP V2 is that it looks like smoking from a cigarette pack. I find that strange, and my girlfriend overreacts when sees one

By the way, the seller has finally answered to my request, and says that he is going to send a new one for free! :toast:

Maybe i'lll receive it in 40 days or so. But anyway i'm very happy, that's a honest seller. :)

Glad that you had a good result. Enjoy your Vamo!

I'm always surprised when people think the MVP v2 looks odd when compared to a long fat metal tube. :)

I can't believe it: The vamo powered up again!

I was trying new Batts for my multimeter, and when i put the two 18350 batts on the Vamo, and connected them through the amp meter, whoa! the OLED display started to show a text

Then when i tried to place the vamo cap, nothing happened. (That means it worked the 1st time it had batts after several days without them)

But I started to try to push buttons, again and again (maybe i was hoping to dicharge some internal circuit or something), but i don't know how, it powered up again, and this time we could vape :vapor:

I tested it with 11W setting and one 18350, and works perfectly. (But we vape at 8W, more power gives burnt taste)

Today we'll see if it brokes again or not.

Maybe I'll end up with two woriking vamo's for 25 eur?? :D :D

Hi Mate,

I would avoid alibaba or their affiliates, even for bulk suppliers from what I hear they are notorious for selling counterfeit merchandise as "authentic." With vamo v5 since it manufactured in China (by at least 5 different manufacturers I hear) it is difficult to say you have an "authentic" product anyway. I much prefer fast-tech, I know it is bulk supplier and they do sell counterfeit products but they do note it when it is counterfeit. They have a great forum and review system where you can ask other users who bought their product. Their customer service is surprsingly responsive for a chinese supplier.

I bought a vamo v5 1 month ago (not from fast-tech) and it started having a different problem with its 510 connector. It constantly misreads ohms and it won't even detect tanks when they are plugged in (giving me low load error) until I used a flat head screw-driver to push up the center pin... I would recommend a more well-built device. You may spend more money but I think it is worth it, instead of replacing your pv every few months. I would discourage buying another vamo if you had a problem with your original.

If its within your budget, provari is built like a tank from what I hear and a great warranty for it too. Also I was looking at the Sigelei Zmax V5 (telescopic) and the Innokin SVD or VTR. I ended up buying the tesla VW, it has a spring-loaded 510 center pin, so hopefully no more contact pin issues for me.

We received the new Vamo V5 last friday. And works perfectly. This unit was sent for free from the seller.
The old one died completely and doesn't turn on, it lasted a few days.

We also received our first mechanical mod, a V2 Launcher. I put the 18350 batt on it and we're really happy. I also tried the kick (VW), but finally i removed it. I prefer the simplicity that a mech mod offers; with an RBA and coiling carefully, seems i can get very good results.

And the best part is, that a mech mod is a lot smaller than the Vamo. Specially when compared using a single 18350 battery. My girlfried is very happy with it.

We're using the mech mod with the "Dark Mule Zeus" RBA from pink mule. I bought it in november 2013, and is the only atomizer that has survived more than six months. (the other atomizers were very cheap)

I'm learning on how to coil, and i'm getting good results. Now i have a coil of 1.1ohm and I could manage to avoid juice burning in that small space.

My gf loves it a lot. And seems she doesn't smoke anymore with this :toast:

Now we're waiting for some new rba: A Magma 1:1 clone and a Kayfun. (from Fasttech!)

I want to stick to 1ohm coils (+/- 0.1); we're using AW 18350 batts, and i think it's a safe choice and i should not go lower than 0.90ohms.

Just received the kayfun and the magma

I coiled both with a dual coil. Magma has 1.4ohm and kayfun 1.1ohm

My girlfriend is very happy with them!
