have vaping for a while now, started at the bottom and tried most of the budget items out there and now using the vamo v5 mod with the new kanager tank that uses the new coils..

since swapping to the new coils i have noticed that they last about a day.. the previous coils lasted about a week.
i even started building my own coils in the hope that i would get more use out of them but nope.. i get about 24hours out of them.
anyone else experienced the same?

that aside could anyone recommend a tank for the vamo with rebuild-able coil setup?

When you say "new coils" are you talking about "dual coils"? I have both single and dual coils. I rebuild them both -- but I rebuild the duals into single coils.

My single rebuilt coils last between 2-3 tanks (depending on the flavor) before I have to "dry burn" and re-wick them. I build and re-wick with cotton.

yeah the dual coils.. they have a slightly longer stem than their predecessors.
i have used new ones pre made out the pack and they lasted about a day.. have started rebuilding them and they last the same amount of time.
thats using the vamo v5 and the bog standard ego cheapy battery mods..
have also tried various liquid brands..

If you're just upgrading from a battery like the evod starters to a mod, there are a few things to know - first off, you've now got variable voltage. Most cartomizers can't handle too high of a voltage and will burn if you're running it too high. I recommend starting at around 3.7v and pushing up to 4 or maybe just a little higher if you really want to. Just remember the higher the voltage the faster they'll burn.

If you use rebuildables that's a different story. You should be able to bump straight up to 6v with a rebuildable atty if you know how to do it - anything else, though, you won't want to go far above 4v on. I never go above 4.2 with regular cartos.

Anyway the vamo is a great first mod, cheap, simple, effective. I only ever got rid of mine because I broke it by dropping it. So long as you don't go upping the voltage too high it shouldn't give any problems.

thanks for the info, im ok with understanding the electrical aspect of it plus im the sort of person that likes to know how things work.
take em to bits and re build em kind of person..
main reason i want to get into building my own wicks. that way if they dont work its my fault not some asian sweat shops fault.

my original question about the new dual coils seeming to last about a tenth of the time the previous versions did still stands.
i started using the newer coils with my ego £5 battery and kanger 3 mini tank the coils were genuine sealed kanager coils 2 of them leaked out the pack the other 3 lasted a day each.
i then got the vamo and another pack of new coils, non leaked but they all lasted about a day before they started turning the liquid brown and tasting like crap.

so i started on the path of building my own..
every coil comes out between 2 and 2.5 ohms.
no matter if i run them on the old ego battery or on a lowish voltage with the vamo they last about a day.. i am a heavy vaper so they get a thraping..

no more than the older coils..but they just dont seem to last..

i have already changed the type of wick to the kenthal a1 and a different supplier for wick, as the first lot tasted of wick for a few hours.. this new supply can never taste the wick.

if i was to get the kayfun clone would i get more use per wick / coil?
