Vamo3 watts question

Hi everyone, I just recently purchased the Vamo 3. This is my first vv /vw mod. When I use EVOD with a 1.8ohm on a spinner it is around 3.7 v and I get great taste and vape. On the Vamo 3 I have to go to 6 watts to get the same. Isn't 6 watts high for 1.8ohms

I tried lower watts but wasn't providing me with the same. Just want to make sure if it is normal to use 6 watts for a 1.8ohms.

It's actually pretty low. 6W at 1.8ohms is around 3.3v. I usually fire 1.8ohms at 8W or so and 12W if it's dual coil.

You can also set the Vamo to use V instead of W if that's you're used to.

Since we're asking wattage questions, I've got one or two...

I use 2.4 ohm Evods and a Protank. I can vape my Evods at about 5.5 watts before I burn my coils, and I haven't pushed my Protank past 6.0 watts because the juice stopped tasting good. My juice at 5.0-5.5 watts in my Evods and Protank taste perfect anyway, so no complaints.

I routinely see people using much higher wattage than this. Is this an average wattage for clearos, whereas something like RBAs routinely take more wattage? Or is it really juice dependent? I vape Halo's Menthol Ice, Voodoo and Tiki Juice. They're heavy on the PG side.

Just trying to learn.

With a 2.4 ohm coil, 5.5 and 6 watts are pretty low to be experiencing burning!
I'm not sure I get any vapor that low...


And to the Original Poster -
with a 1.8 ohm EVOD on your VAMO, you should find settings that vape right for you - period!
You can start on VV mode at around 3.7, then go up or down and see what happens.
Or switch to VW mode, and start at around 7, then go up or down a bit and see what happens.

I actually find myself NOT stuck on either mode - sometimes I'm happy for hours with it set to 7.5 watts, but then something changes and I want to bump it up a bit. And since you can adjust volts by 1/10, or watts by 1/2, you get to really fine-tune the device to make your clearomizer deliver for you.

Definitely watts and not volts. I get plenty of flavor and vapor at that wattage with my juices. I don't get the kind of vapor I see people getting in video reviews, but I get at least as much if not more than I ever did with cigarettes. I'm far more hung up on flavor than vapor output, unless of course there's very little vapor.

Maybe it's juice dependent. My juices start to taste burnt past that wattage. Turn it back down, and it's usually fine again.

That's interesting. I've been using an EVOD on my VAMO lately and anything under 7 watts doesn't give me the flavor or throat hit that I am looking for. I'm usually around the 7.5-8.0W setting.

Did you happen to try removing one of the flavor wicks from the atomizer head? Maybe the thickness of your juice isn't allowing it to flow into the coil properly. It might be worth a shot.

I haven't removed anything. My juices are more PG than VG but I'm not sure of the ratios because Halo doesn't publish them.

I guess it's juice and taste dependent. I'm not worried about the wattage (or lack thereof) as everything tastes very good and I've got plenty of vapor and throat hit. It was more of a curiosity thing than anything else.

I've found I actually prefer using voltage instead of wattage, as it seems I can get more precise with the output and get the best balance of everything that way. Anywhere from 3.7-3.9 volts works better with my main vape (Halo's Menthol Ice) than my wattage settings.

I'm just trying to learn more about this stuff. I'd imagine different juices would work equally as well at significantly higher power output.
