I will chime in to include myself in those who own a Vamo V2 that switches back to "no 01" mode when switching batteries. It's not a "set it and forget it" option. I'll try to chime in again when switching batteries a few more times. It probably has something to do with powering down your device before switching batteries out VS not powering down.

Have you tried switching it over to vv instead of vw and seeing if you get similar results? I know this won't answer the question of what's wrong, but at least it might not blow up on you.

Also, is it reading your resistance correctly? I'm always worried about using vw mode because if for some reason it reads my 2ohm atty as a 3ohm atty I'm going to be getting a lot more power than I want.

What's the gasket around the connector pin look like?

ETA: I'm referring to the part similar to the white one in this picture (not a Vamo, but the part is the same)

ok so i got the multi meter and here are my findings

using a fully charged 4.18V 18650

Sigelei
@3v = 1.36v
@4v = 2.52v
@5v = 4.08v
@6v = 6.01v

now for the crazy vamo
@3v = 1.45v
@4v = 2.60v
@5v = 4.15v
@6v = 6.04v

..... ...? just put the protank back in it and now its fine o_O put the stacked batteries back in it. and its still fine... damn it i really wanted to see those numbers too. thing was hitting like a freight train. if it happens again i will be sure to post the numbers!

i think its safe to say after 10 ish months i think it may be on its way out.

I thought you were supposed to use NO1 if you are stacking batteries? Or would that be even crazier. Idk i never stacked i just ran my Vamo single 18350 while i used it.

i've never heard that, but since i don't stack batteries i may just never have come across it.

as a retired engineer, i can't think of any reason to use no1, but i may be missing (or forgetting) something

Have you checked what the ohm reading is on the Vamo? Sometimes the Vamo misreads the ohms and fires hot if you have issues with the gasket ring like ocelot posted.

The no1 setting was actually removed in the Vamo V3.
