Im new to vaping but i've cut down almost or more then half in smoking and money its amazing how i could replace so to speak smoking to a "fake" way of smoking i have a Kangertech Evod 2 works amazing but im experiencing a cough almost 2-3 times i try to vape any ideas i been cig free since june 2 currently on 12 mg of nic

what wattage are you vaping at?
a common vape rate is wattage x milligrams = 100
If you vape 12 mg at 30 watts you'll probably cough.

If you smoked for a long time, when you stop and switch to vape, you lungs get a chance to start cleaning out, and you end up tending to cough for several weeks after you stop smoking.

Dry hits will also cause coughing; hopefully your tastebuds detect the dry hits first.

If your talking about vaping giving you a cough over a period of a few weeks then i know a few other people including my cousin who developed similar problems. My cousin was able to fix this by picking juices with higher VG contents and he found after a week the cough had diminished considerably. If this is the problem your having try picking up some higher VG juices if your setup can handle them.

I found that I was coughing a lot when I first started as well. It took me awhile to get my settings on my device right. I was using too high of a wattage. Try lowering the wattage. Being a 20+ year smoker, it took me a couple weeks to notice that my "smoker's cough" was gone. I think its all part of the learning curve.

I have the same setup (Kanger EVOD 2), and my first juice was 50/50 PG and VG, and it was harsh to me and made me cough, too. When I went to max VG juice, it stopped. I smoked two packs a day for over 40 years, so my lungs were definitely gunked up, but the high VG was a lot softer and gentler for me. ;) I can handle a little higher PG in my juice now, but I still prefer the smoothness of the high VG juices.

I had the same problem.. I also started with an Evod. But you can't run high vg in it, so I got a Subox, still had the sore throat until I lowered the nic level to 3. With me, I think it was the nic level that was making me cough and have throat congestion I thought 3 mg nic wouldn't be enough for me.. Smoked 2 PAD for years. 3mg nic was just right. No more cough and no sore throat. It still did take some time even with that set-up for the sore throat and cough to go away. It's like others have said. When you first quit the stinkies, you have lots of bad stuff stuck in there that need to be hacked up. Drink lots of water, too. It really helps. I miss my Evod but the flavor and vapor is a lot better with the Subox. Congrats on dumping the ciggies!

Give it some time... your body needs time to churn out all of that old lung butter... especially if you're still actively smoking while you transition. In the mean time, I'd avoid PG heavy liquids, excessively minty or mentholated ones, and tons of nic. These can contribute to irritation and coughing. Drink more water, too. If your lungs and respritory system are a bit dry, the water helps to lube things up a lot.
