So, I've been vaping since 2011. For the last half decade or so, I've been vaping exclusively Jon Wayne by Uncle Junks, which of course is no longer available. (I have found it here and there but can't order direct anymore obviously).

So, trying to find a new vape. I swear. EVERYTHING tastes like soap/perfume or flowers or, oddly.... bubblegum. EVERYTHING.

Today I've been vaping plain old no flavor PG/VG and I might end up being a convert to that if I can't find something else.

I don't mind making my own, but have no idea which flavorings have soapy/perfumy flavors that I detest.

Help? ;-)

The soapy taste is caused by an excess of flavoring for your palate, I get this with almost every commercial juice I have tried.
Making your own juice is as simple as blending VG/PG to suit your requirements, some nicotine and some flavoring.
Needless to say the advantages are cost saving and full control over the makeup of your juice to suit what you like.

The best place to source supplies depends on what county you live in.

I wish I had a simple answer for you. I do mix my own mostly and have experienced the same perfuminess sometimes. But just sometimes. If you're getting it with everything, I guess I'd have to ask if by "everything" you mean commercial liquids, or also diy juices you may have made.
An awful lot of commercial juices are bad.
