I pulled the trigger on an eGo tank cartomizer the other day.

Ego Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank Kit

It should be here tomorrow, a long with a generous supply of e-liq.

I'm a moderate smoker. I smoke about a pack every couple of days, and this will be my first e-cig purchase. I got this particular one, because it was dual-coil, and had a decent size tank capacity. My buddy had one like this, might not have been same exact make, but it surely looks the same, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I took a couple of drags off of his, and as weak as it was, I surely didn't want to get anything that might have been any weaker... ie. like a cig clone type thing.

So, if you've got any experience with this type of e-cig, what should I expect? Is it a good start? Are there any issues I might have with it?

Thanks!

WELCOME TO THE ECF

I think you've made a good choice. Since carto tanks are basically the "thing" now on the ECF. It's an ego knockoff battery since you can see the SMOK logo on it. So, it might be able to handle the DCC on it. Which are one of the more popular cartos. There are a good amount of people that swear by the smoktech carto tanks.

All in all, you've made a decent choice. Just fill it up with 45 drops of juice in the carto itself. After that then you can fill the tank. Finally let it rest for 30 minutes before you vape. You should be fine afterwards.

Oh, you should stock up on some e-liquid as well. Madvapes has good prices and so, it shouldn't hurt your pockets to much.

No problem, VG and PG is two ingredients that make up e-liquid. Besides flavoring and nicotine of course. So, they're going to be included whether you want it or not.

The more VG is in the e-liquid. The thicker it is and the more vapor that it will produce while the TH you get won't be as strong. The PG is in the e-liquid the thinner it is, the more flavor you get, and the more TH you get as well.

Generally, it's better to use e-liquid/juices (vaping slang) that are higher in PG in your cartos, tanks, and CE2's. While juices that are higher in VG should be used in atties. Although, there are a lot of people that use them in carto tanks and everything else. This will decrease the lifespan of the carto yous using it in though.

If you want a FULL explanation of what PG and VG is, then check this out:

A lot of people have their preferences for which mix they like best. For me, my preferences are juices that are either 80PG/20VG or 70PG/30VG

Thats kind of nice looking with the 3ml tank and the finishing ring on it. One thing is you may want to get more tanks and just keep one juice in a tank. When they get down to about 1/3 full they dont seem to work so well so its either pour out a ml or so of juice or set it aside. The Stardust Vision tanks will be back in stock next month and I really like the way they look tapering down to a flat tip which I prefer.

You can also pick up some ECHO-E cartomizers and use them on that setup. They also hold 3ml and I have changed juice flavors in them by just putting in the new flavor when the last one starts to hit dry. I use similar flavors in them though, no putting watermelon in one that had waffle in it. Been telling folks about NWVapors for these cartos as they have them on sale at $3 each and they have been really great to deal with. I only got two on my first order with them and ended up with a couple dozen on the next because I liked them so much. With three different finishes I can tell whats in what by the color and have 9 mls of my favs with me all the time... I could get stuck in a snowstorm and be content with that kind of backup :)

I got my kit this morning.

I had bought some RY4 24mg, and a bunch of random flavors to mix with that are 11mg. First hit I took, I almost destroyed myself. Didn't think it would be -that- strong of a hit, as my friend had a similar looking one that was very weak.

The vapor is warm and cozy, and my mixture tastes like a decent cigar. Like I said, it's strong enough to make me think twice about taking a very long drag. I am a pretty quick puffer when it comes to analogs anyways, however, I might change the mixture next time to dilute the nicotine levels.

First impressions are that this is a wicked sick device. Not sure how long the batteries are gonna last, but I see myself getting a big battery mod in the future, just for sheer convenience.

Btw, the root beer flavor from TopVapor is delicious.

Being a moderate smoker, the batteries you got should last you all day, if not longer.

I think you'll def like that kit. I'd actually rather have that then the regular eGo bc the Smoktech eGo is 3.7V while the genuine eGos are 3.3-3.4V. I use an Epower which is a 3.7V with that same smoktech 3.5ml tank. Personally I don't like dual coils at lower voltages so I didn't even use the carto that comes with the tank. I use 1.7ohm Ressurector cartos in the tank and they work a lot better. I recommend giving them a try and they work great in the tank. Crystal Clear Vaping sells prepunched Ressurector cartos to be used in the Smoktech tanks and they have the metal base on them like the carto that comes with the tank does. You dont have to use a carto with the metal base, and could just punch a carto yourself, but the cartos with the metal base are nice bc they stop the tank from being able to slide down. I would def give them a try

Awesome thanks! I'll buy a couple and give it a whirl.

Also, is it normal for cartos to crackle and pop? I've noticed mine shooting a stream or two of vapor out of the mouth piece on occasion, too. Did I fill up the carto with too much liquid?
