Vapefest Great for the Socially Awkward!

I drove 4 hours each way yesterday to go to vapefest and I had a great time. I went by myself (gotta love those gully-washers!) and am a shy person by nature but I met a lot of great people whose names I cannot remember (as is my way, never good at names) but I wanted to highlight:
Natedogg -- awesome guy
The fool -- she's a sweetheart and I wish I stayed longer, we prob could have talked all night;
dohsma -- another great guy
The couple who run Texas Totally Twisted (prob got the order in the name wrong) -- fun, great, a man with a shaved head who wasn't going bald, and I love the extension they sold me, I may start liking Texans again!

Other great people were at Blue Mist, V4L, Johnson Creek, Mad Hatter, and altsmoke -- and its a rarity when I'm not the biggest hippie in the room! We definitely need a Grateful Vapers group, lots of Dead afficianados. Fool told me zbasspro were going to be there soon, a couple I wanted to meet, seem hilarious online; and some members actually had seen my posts! Didn't win a raffle, though.......

Jeez, I forget to mention eliquidplanet, great stuff and people, and spinning some awesome tunes!

After a couple hours I get nervous around new people so I vamoosed
although many tried to get me to stay -- that's why I put this in PIF, because that's what you (I try) do, a bunch of nice, like-minded individuals going for a common cause and I wish I could have met so many others I have encountered on the forum (doots, mutt, the wiz, and, of course, jules) but I know schedules conflict -- I have to go to my neice's b-day party today -- but I hope all that go today have a great time!

RISW that is so sweet of you to say that! I was wondering why it was so quiet here. I had totally forgotten about vape Fest. Hopefully, soon, I'll be able to go to one. I would love to meet everyone!

RISW.......I'm glad you got to go to Vapefest. If I could have talked my wife into going I would have been there myself. I'm sure you met a bunch of vapers there who used to frequent this forum quite a bit in days gone by(Too many to list). I'm familiar with Dohsma....and Josh at e-liquid Planet is a great guy for sure. I would definitely like to meet up with him someday...and you as well! Regardless of how long you were able to stay at least you went!

Vapefest St.Louis really didn't get the attention it deserved here at this forum IMO.......But it was a well thought out event for vapers across the USA to gather and talk about their common interest....e-cigs!

Awesome! I met Rob at Vapefest in VA. He is a cool guy. Did he bring the Wizard? Also met and saw lots of cool people like Grimm, True, Rob from Altsmoke, Drew, Josh from ELP, Iken, and I hung out with Bigbuyer a lot! At the after party I hung out with Guineahill (Missy, who makes the Wetbox) and tried out some of her DIYs. She had an awesome PB&J! I had so much fun and wish I could have attended. I heard that there might be a vape cruise and then one in Vegas. Did they talk about that at all?

A vape cruise now?....LOL! I had already heard about Vegas in 2011 but didn't know about that! The problem with these Vapefests is that they are now twice a year events and one either needs to have time off for work and/or plenty of $. The average joe like myself can't afford to make these trips which seem to be geared for the "Well to Do"(I still only own 3 Mods!)

I really enjoy the local meets which are much more affordable to me!

I really wanted to go to St Louis, but maybe now I can save my money for Vegas.. I am still relatively new to vaping, and would love to meet everyone that I could. I got to watch a few small segments of the streaming video on vapetv, but sadly had to work yesterday as soon as they got the feed going good, and when I got home last night they were already off the air.. Dangit.. oh well, I am sure I will get to go to a vapefest one day...

Pretty easy to find your sweet spot when you can adjust it in .1 increments. Yeah I think it's priced very reasonable for what it does, and what goes into it. boB

Apparently they were thinking about doing the cruise before Vegas. I'd rather go to Vegas, baby!

I watched a little on Vapetv and Grimm also had some vids posted on Youtube already. I can't wait to go to the next one. It's really cool to meet more people that vape.

How did I miss those???? I was talking to them forever, bought one of those cool extensions (so worth it)! Not a bad price and I'm glad zbasspro was there -- it was great, wasn't it? I am definitely going again! Thanks for the kind words....

And there wasn't enough on the forum about it, Wiz is right, and it wasn't easy to search threads for info, I watched some of the suppliers' threads and maybe it should have been more in the members section

Hey Ripple, Thanks for starting the thread. But gosh, you didn't seem at all awkward, I thought you were charming, wish you could have stayed. It was an interesting experience to be in a room filled with people, none of whom I had ever met, but all felt like close friends. I was with *my people* this weekend.

The Vapefest got a write-up in the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Made the front page! Check it out, maybe Bob or Missy will know how to add a link, can't seem to figure it out. There was some very nice attention paid to the people in the room who were brand new to vaping, many got free t-shirts and rounds of applause. Spikey did a great job as MC.

It was a lot of fun, but more than that, as I looked around the room Saturday night I realized clearly that I was witnessing the beginning of a movement that is really going to change things. It was a beautiful thing to behold.

Hadn't seen that gadget yet! You've got all you need with that combo. Like you I'm finding about 5 to be the best, although I haven't played with it an hour yet total. It's amazing what a couple of 1/10s make though. boB

It was fun there at Vapefest, getting to visit with everyone. It was great getting a chance to meet the vendors that I have done business with and meet some new ones that I will do business with in the future. Met new people made new friends....it was great time.
