Well I said it was a micro report
Seriously though, it was excellent. It was so packed you could not even walk
through the hall. Maybe that was something to do with the size of the place although that was not the organiser's fault: last year there were about fifty people, so they doubled the size of the venue and figured that would be OK. Unfortunately hundreds and hundreds turned up this time. Some vendors sold out, then sold the tablecloths then the tables.
Lots of fun chat, good meals, much networking between the commercial types and the community media folks. Totally Wicked Global Corp had a mini-conference there (reputed to number 60 staff total now), and ECCA had their first AGM, which went smoothly.
The heating was locked on, on a warm October day, and the windows were locked shut, and the vapor production was locked onto maximum output. The end result was people staggering out into the front yard, gasping down lungs full of cool fresh air, and feeling like kippers. Oh well, all adds to the fun.
Verdict: a smash hit. Props to Wayne for organising it.
Next year can we have the Albert Hall please, I feel it is my human right to be able to breathe occasionally.
