Let me start by saying that I have been a smoker for 20+ years. Normally I would smoke 2 packs a day; sometimes more and sometimes less. Thanks to PV's I am now cigarette free (almost).

Moving on - Man do I wish I would have found ECF before I purchased my first PV. Of course I got one of the free trials and to my horror a few weeks later $99.99 was drafted from my account. Luckily overall it was not that bad of an experience. I immediately called their customer service and got a return number; mailed back the new products they mailed me and within 3 days the had refunded my money.

Needless to say I hit the net and ordered my 1st complete starter kit. M402 from Sharp Smoker. 3 Days later I was on the net again simply because I had made another noob mistake. I purchased the M402 because IMO it more closely resembled an analog more than any other.

Then I purchased my 2nd starter kit. Joytech eGo from Wordup-Ecig. First I must throw it out there that they have the best customer service I have ever encountered with an online retailer. I am very happy with the ego-t batteries. They last me 3-5 hours depending on how much I am vapeing. I am thinking upgrading to the 1000mah eGo-C though.

I am presently trying to simplify things. Currently I go through 3-4 carts a day and drain 2 batteries. This means that I have to refill 4 carts (btw - I am using the blue foam mod in the carts) and charge 2 batteries every night. Plus I have to make sure I have all those items with me when I leave every morning. That is a task for me at 4:30 am

So here is what I have tried so far:
  1. Orange eGo style, dual Coil Cartomizer, 1.6ohm from MadVapes. Love this carto, especially since it lasts me the biggest part of my day. The turn off for me is the "warm vape" I get from it. I do not like the warm vape and will not purchase any more of these because of that.
  2. eGo Mega Dual Coil 4ml Carto LR 1.5ohm from Vaping Zone. This carto was a little to big for my style but I did get great flavor and vapor production with it. However the draw is wayyy to loose/airy for my taste. I prefer a medium draw; I think.
  3. I drip when I am at home. Love it most of the time but dripping is not an option for me throughout the majority of my day.
  4. I am currently waiting on a eGo Horizontal Coil carto. Don't know if it will be worth anything but I am going to try it out.

**I am not looking for and do not need the best of the best. I just need something that fits my needs and is practical in my ever day life. The most important thing for me is staying away from the analogs. When it comes to vapeing I am a flavor junkie. I also like a decent TH. Vapor production does not have to be out of this world but prefer it to be close to the amount of smoke exhaled while smoking an analog; maybe even a little more**

Hi welcome to ECF and well done on your 2 months.

You might want to take a look at the new ego vision carto`s they hold 1.6ml of juice and so should last you all day, and the lr ones should give you plenty of vapour. The best though is that the drip tip screws on and seals onto the centre air tube. I`ve had mine a week now and no matter how i abuse it i can`t get it to leak!!

Oh and i would hold off on the battery upgrade until the new ego twist vv batt comes out.

Based on all the information you provided you might want to start looking into the world of Mods. Don't let the term "mods" scare you..... You won't be doing any modification or assembly.

One of the major benefits of Mods is a much greater battery life.

There are also Variable Voltage mods that open up a whole new realm.

When my wife and I started I bought 6 ego type batteries, an assortment of juices, cartomizers, and atomizers.

Shortly there after I bought a BuzzPro from Notcigs with a 3.5ml tank. I have yet to drain a set of batteries in a single day and a full tank last me 2 days (YMMV as I only smoked like 1/2 pack per day).

I don't feel it was bad to start with the EGO type batteries and they are great for discreet vaping..... I just vaped on a plane the whole way home from Vegas. I was just discreet and didn't blow vapor everywhere (holding my breath for a little while after taking a toke).

Now I'm rambling....

Anyways. I'm planning to buy a 2nd BuzzPro for my wife. We'll keep the ego's lying around for "emergencies".

Being that I am the one who keeps everything charged and filled I can honestly say that I don't feel that using a VV Mod is any more difficult than a basic EGO type battery.

I highly recommend that you read these threads very carefully, and then see what other questions you might have after you understand all of it.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ined-detail-single-dual-coil-atty-cartos.html

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...866-why-does-ego-c-get-such-bad-rap-site.html

To summarize 20 pages into one paragraph; variable voltage is the only way to get maximum enjoyment out of vaping because it can allow you to provide the optimum amount of wattage (and thereby juice-vaporizing warmth) to any attachment regardless of resistance or number of coils, or the characteristics of any particular juice (flavor, viscoisty, how it feeds to the coils, and more). You can get an excellent vape on constant voltage, and even low (3.4-3.7) constant voltage, if you can get at least 6 watts to the coil or coils, with between 8-10 usually better IMO, depending on the juice. IMO, this can only be accomplished on a low-voltage PV/power unit by using SINGLE COIL atomizers/cartomizers.

Remember the formula "volts x volts / resistance in ohms = watts". With dual coils, each coil gets half of the watts derived from that formula, even when the single coil and dual coil device are rated at the same resistance.

Example: 3.4V (Joyetech) x 3.4 / 1.7 ohms = 6.8 watts for a single coil (not bad at all), or 3.4 watts per coil on a dual coil (pathetic). With a 1.5 single coil it would be even more watts, but I used 1.7 because you want something that will work well in a Smoktech DCT 3.5ml tank, and that requires (IMO) a single coil, flanged, stainless steel, xl-sized cartomizer, and I have been able to find that only as low as 1.7, and not 1.5.

You can get everything you need from the Kalamazoo Vapor Shop.

5090 SmokTech Single Coil 510 Tank Replacement Cartomizer 1.7ohms $2.00

5065 SmokTech DCT 3.5ml Chrome Tanks Options: Color: Clear $11.99

I just bought ten of these tanks last night for friends who are just starting out. If you get a separate one for each of your daily vapes, you will be enjoying a very hassle-free vape; hit after hit, for hours on end. The cartomizers have to be "slotted" just right, per PBusardo's YouTube video. Very easy, very worth it.

That is a very good suggestion, and the Twist is dicussed in the thread about the eGo-C. That said, learn all about the ProVari V2 and the Smoktech VMax.

GREAT thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/286064-wow-provari-copy-made-smoktech.html

Congrats on 2 months, that's a big deal man :)

As for your issue with the hot vape, it's an easy fix. Right now you're using a low resistance atty, they put out hot vapes. Some people love them. Try something with a higher resistance, say 2.5 to 3. About $7 should fix you up with your current set ups. That should fix your problem. Honestly, what I suggest next is a tube tank, 7ml. You can give the low res cartos a try, but you can also get high res for tube tanks. With such a big resevoir, one of these babies should last you most of the day, if not a day or two!

Are these the same as Stardust and/or Clearomizers? If so I thought they were notorious for cracking?

Not scared of mods. I just need something that is durable and that I can carry in my pocket all day. The BuzzPro is more than I am willing to pay ATM. I am sure eventually I will pick up a mod to use while I am at home. Seen some great reviews on the Provari I think it was. Bur for right now I am happy with the ego just not the carts that came with it. Unless there is something out there about the same size that has better features.

Since I have the eGo battery why would I not get the tank for the eGo and then use the same replacement carto you mentioned? Also does anyone else have any thoughts on the before mentioned products.

I just got a eGo horizontial coil carto in the mail today. It is 1.80ohm and I am not geting a hot vape from it. I am sure that is because the coil is at the bottom of the carto though.

They are, and mine is. And I don't really like them. When I first saw one, I said "why are the wicks way up at the top, and so short? How is the juice supposed to wet tmem" And the PBusardo said the same thing on his YouTube review, which made me feel good.

Slightly confused; not sure what you mean by carts here. You might be referring to what i would call a Joyetech eGo tank. Little 1.1ml guy, with a cigar-type tip, and a little cap that snaps off the bottom? Pics would be helpful. And if you want to generate some mad vapor for cheap, get a Smoktech (5 volt) Woo, or the Joyetech eGo Twist when it comes out.

Since I have the eGo battery why would I not get the tank for the eGo and then use the same replacement carto you mentioned? Also does anyone else have any thoughts on the before mentioned products.

Again, confused. I'm just saying that a Smoktech 3.5ml DCT tank with a (slotted per PBusardo's YouTube video) 1.7 ohm single coil stainless steel XL-sized carto in it should do very well on your 3.4 volt Joyetech eGo battery. You might also want to get a Joyetech eGo-C conversion kit with a pack of 5 Joyetech LR atty's to go with it. Esmokeronline has them.

That should be working fairly well, but again:

3.4v x 3.4v / 1.8 = 6.4 watts. Still somewhat marginal for a great vape.

Did you read those threads I linked to? They would answer a lot of your q's.

Yeah the horizontal cartos did not work out to well. 1 was DOA and the other worked for about 3 draws. From those 3 draws I did get a decent TH, and vapor production.

My eGo-T came with prefilled carts..not the tanks. I pulled the polly fill out and replaced it eith the blue foam useing the blue foam mod I found somplace here on ECF.

The site you suggested that has the DCT tank also has the same kind of eGo tank. Look the same to me; just thread on differently.

Yes I did look at all 3 of the discussions you recomended. Through that I think I want a tank with the replaceable cartos. If they work then it would simplify it for me by eliminating refilling 3 carts (cartridges) every night. Now to do the research on that type of tanks and make sure I get a decent one.
