You guys are awesome! Great ideas. I just logged back in to look for some recipes, but you've already given me some great ideas. I was most excited to try the cinnamon Red Hots flavor. Best flavor yet. 5% 50/50 18mg and Bob's ur Uncle. Highly recommend any DIYer has at least a gallon of TFA Cinnamon Red Hots on hand at all times. I think I might be mostly a candy vaper. Though I've got some RY4, pastry stuff, and coffee flavors. I like to mix it up. Anyone else have a dump jar? You know a place you save all your mistakes cuz ur too cheap to throw them away. o/ that me. I've mixed up several mistakes and now have about 60ml of awful tasting crud. OH but you think I won't vape it? I'll vape every last drop of this poison. I think of it as a right of passage. Gotta eat what you kill. lol

I have some regular blueberry (TFA) that I just can't get to taste good. It's just too bland even at 30%. I won't go above that with any flavor. If it doesn't work at that high concentration, I'm better off just putting the real thing in my tank and vaping that. I'm hoping this blueberry candy will be more lively. I bet the regular blueberry would be good at rounding out certain flavors. Too noob to know which yet.

I can't believe there isn't a way to measure taste. It's such a clear sense. I don't know about ya'll but I see a gfx equalizer in my head when I'm focused on how something tastes. Just like music. I've heard this analogy before, so I think it must be common.

I have literally 4 liters of this stowed away. That involved a shipping error on a big order, but I have it. It has been 90% of my fiancee's and my juice vaped over the last 3 years.

Great juice, glass tanks only. Eats plastic like acid. I've had drip tips literally melt from it.

The almond's probably mostly benzaldehyde and pyrazines. They wouldn't put actual almond oil in it because that has very little flavor.

Also, it tends to be (from what I've seen, but feel free to correct me) essential oils that some manufacturers use for vaping flavors. Those are not actual oils, theyre pretty much natural blends of the same components people are already vaping. Breaking down essential oils to understand individual molecules, then synthesizing those molecules in the lab, is how most flavoring components were developed.

EDIT: Hmm, I didn't notice it was the extract, but that's still likely to be largely almond essential oil (mostly benzaldehyde), ethanol, and water. There will be ingredients on the bottle.

Have you checked the ingredients for the Almond in the background? When I enlarge the pic, it becomes blurry, so I couldn't look it up. Be cautious of colorings and oils. Many people use oils, but they do so in small percentages. If you know all this, sorry to comment.

Oh yeah. lol the Almond is an extract for cooking. It's like 38% alcohol and 2 other chemicals I don't recognize. I was toying with the idea of trying to vape it, but neh, I don't think that is wise. It's back in the kitchen. I think I had the picture set to a low res on that site. If you check it again it should zoom in a lot more.

I LOVE the cinnamon, but I'm starting to think it is hard on the coils. I got 5 new 1.8 coils with that order in the picture and I've gone through every one of them. I am very good at winding my own coils, but I have a lot of trouble getting them to 1.8ohms. I've got 28 and 32 gauge kanthal A1. I think 30gauge would work better for me. The ohms just seem to vary so wildly. One warp will sometimes change the resistance a whole ohm. That just doesn't seem right. Then I have issues with my batteries cutting off meaning there is probably a short. It's annoying. I just ordered my first rda. Cheapest one on the market that I'm aware of. The Smok Dripper RDA. I need it for testing these flavors. Pain to fill a tank just to test a new mix which 9 times out of 10 is not good.

For testing, that rda looks perfect. I have an igo and some cheapo bridgeless atties that make it super easy to test. When I first started diy, I was using all the left over clearos I had when I started vaping, but those are long gone. No matter how much good advice is out there, it takes awhile to figure out what works best for each person.

Got my new 1300mah spinner battery in the mail today. 2x the size of my other batteries. I should get my rda tomorrow. Yeah that the one Huck. About to attempt another spearmint mix. I see lots of posts recommending to use EM, but I don't have any of that. But I do have Smooth and Marshmallow. I've heard that the TFA sweetener dumbs down flavors. I don't know if that's true, but I've not had much success with it and spearmint in the past.

oops forgot to post this.

Well I mixed the spearmint and it's not perfect, but I think I'm on to something here. I mixed up 5ml 40/60 pg/vg, 18mg nic, Spearmint 3%, Marshmallow 10%, and 2 drops of Smooth. All TFA. It tastes like chewed gum. You know kinda bland, but the acidic high notes seem to be gone and I can taste the sweet. I think it needs maybe 1 or 2% more spearmint and some added TFA sweetener. Might also be better to make this 50/50. I just have issues with flooding my coils so I prefer thicker juice. I also like more vapor.

I've got a question but I don't think it is worthy of a whole new post. This TFA spearmint without a doubt eats plastic but it comes in a plastic bottle. Should I be worried about it eating the bottle? I really don't feel like vaping dissolved plastic. It doesn't appear to be after a couple weeks.

Also, they're different kinds of plastic. I think polypropylene is what the flavoring is in, polycarbonate is the kind that don't do well with some mixes. I hope I got that right...

Yeah on the spearmint I find that adding a bit of banana makes it taste better. I'm pretty sure I went over board on the Smooth in this last batch. It was recommended that you use 1 drop per 10ml. I have no idea what possessed me to put 4 drops in a 5ml mix. It knocked out most of the spearmint flavor, which isn't bad since this particular flavor tastes like burning plastic smells if it's too strong. But I think it was way too much all the same of the smooth. It's vapable. Mixing it with banana really does help.
