I love to drip. I find the taste is the best out of everything, or at least from what I've tried in this last six weeks. tanks, cartos, LR cartos, DC, cartridge and standard atty. So far the drip tip and standard atty (haven't tried an LR one....next on the list!!) is my favorite of them all.

At first I really enjoyed the LR cartos, and i still do while driving, but if I had a choice I'd rather drip. But one should be safe and all that :) So, I have noticed this vapemate thing. Seen a few reviews. Can't say it's the most esthetic looking thing, but if it works well who cares!

So for all the drippers out there, what do you think of this product, or are there other similar products out there?

I have a vapemate, use it for driving, and it does what I need it to do.

Things I like about it:
1. Super simple to change from a drip setup to the vapemate and back again.
2. When out and about the unit fits in a snack size ziplock so it stores easily. I use the same ziplock to store the juice bottle cap when I'm using the vapemate.
3. Rugged and well built.

Things I don't like:
1. There is a learning curve to using it. I'm ham-thumbed, I guess, but even the most nimble fingered won't get the same control as dripping. You just don't get the same precision pressing a bottle as you can deciding two drops or three. Just can't be expected.
2. It changes the character of the vape. You add some distance from the atty to the drip tip and the vapor goes through a small block of metal. It's not as warm as regular dripping. I have vv mods; cranking up the voltage can make up for the heat loss, but then the draw/amount of vapor isn't the same as what I'm used to.

To be honest it works well for me when driving. I really don't notice the difference in the vape and I can keep the atty wet without catastrophic flooding. I do occasionally have a little leaking, but both my mods have juice wells large enough to handle it (Buzz and Provari). I also keep a paper towel in that ziplock just in case. At home though, watching a movie or on the computer, I much prefer regular dripping. I don't drive far that often, a few times a month, so in fairness, I really haven't worked at becoming more proficient. There are also some mods that can improve performance (tubing in the juice bottle for example) that you've probably read about in the Super T forum. I've been too lazy to try them, but hey, it works and I don't have to worry about causing an accident.

I'm not a carto fan. If I wanted something to use more regularly, I'd also consider the dedicated juice feed mods and the tank systems. I'm happy dripping though and the Vapemate solved that pesky driving problem. One other unit I looked at before buying the vapemate was "The Dripper' made by Notcigs.

Hope that helps.

OK, this is the first time I've seen this thing. I have a question myself. If this contraption works by squeezing the bottle why would it work any better than, say, the $15.00 "Dripper" from NotCigs and make it worth $60.00? I mean it's fancy and everything but as far as functionality goes, doesn't it do the exact same thing?

I have the Vapemate, and the Dripped. The Vapemate is much more durable. The tubing came dislodged from the Dripped the second time I filled it, so now it is pretty much worthless. The Vapemate has no tubing to get caught on anything. I don't use the Vapemate since I bought my first Reo. But I definitely think the Vapemate is worth the extra money. It is much easier to change flavors.

OK, OK. Whatever. Seems like a lot of cash is being spent just to drip juice into an atty but to each their own.
I won't say anything about you guys buying this stuff if you don't say anything about me thinking it's kinda silly.
Agreed? :)

It seemed more logical for me to spend money, than drip and drive at night on windy country roads going to work. Yes I spent money, but I also was able to avoid hitting the deer that cross the roads. Now I just use my Grand or Mini. Safe and happy I am.

yes, it's more a solution for the drip and drive thing. While at work I also prefer the ego battery size for pocket use etc, so having to bring two with me (lets say I went bottom feeder vs just removing the vapemate) is more annoying.

But while on the topic, is there any difference from bottom feeding vs top feeding as far as taste or atties goes? I'm pretty open to solutions etc, so I'm not fully sold yet on the vapemate, more just inquiring about general solutions.

Cheers

The Dripper is interesting because it uses a pump bottle. Same amount of juice with each press. That solves one problem, but then you have to do something with the bottle when you switch back to dripping. I think I read in the Notcigs forum that they changed how they glued the tubing, making them less prone to damage, but a block of metal will always be more durable. Of course you can buy 4 Drippers for the price of the Vapemate. I got the Vapemate, but the Dripper may have worked for me just as well.

I can understand that spending $60 or even $15 can seem silly, but consider this. Even at today's low rates, the interest you can earn over 10 or 20 years on the price of a funeral will easily pay for either the Vapemate or the Dripper, a sound financial decision :)
