I have a vapemate, use it for driving, and it does what I need it to do.
Things I like about it:
1. Super simple to change from a drip setup to the vapemate and back again.
2. When out and about the unit fits in a snack size ziplock so it stores easily. I use the same ziplock to store the juice bottle cap when I'm using the vapemate.
3. Rugged and well built.
Things I don't like:
1. There is a learning curve to using it. I'm ham-thumbed, I guess, but even the most nimble fingered won't get the same control as dripping. You just don't get the same precision pressing a bottle as you can deciding two drops or three. Just can't be expected.
2. It changes the character of the vape. You add some distance from the atty to the drip tip and the vapor goes through a small block of metal. It's not as warm as regular dripping. I have vv mods; cranking up the voltage can make up for the heat loss, but then the draw/amount of vapor isn't the same as what I'm used to.
To be honest it works well for me when driving. I really don't notice the difference in the vape and I can keep the atty wet without catastrophic flooding. I do occasionally have a little leaking, but both my mods have juice wells large enough to handle it (Buzz and Provari). I also keep a paper towel in that ziplock just in case. At home though, watching a movie or on the computer, I much prefer regular dripping. I don't drive far that often, a few times a month, so in fairness, I really haven't worked at becoming more proficient. There are also some mods that can improve performance (tubing in the juice bottle for example) that you've probably read about in the Super T forum. I've been too lazy to try them, but hey, it works and I don't have to worry about causing an accident.
I'm not a carto fan. If I wanted something to use more regularly, I'd also consider the dedicated juice feed mods and the tank systems. I'm happy dripping though and the Vapemate solved that pesky driving problem. One other unit I looked at before buying the vapemate was "The Dripper' made by Notcigs.
Hope that helps.
