I give it 10 years, and BT will be fully transitioned to ecigarettes. tobacco will still exist, but only popular with those tobacco die hards. Of course they will try to use the FDA to corner the market, add poisons to their eliquid to kill off the population, ban all mom and pop shops, online retailers/manufacturers/eliquids, etc. We can't have real competition here in the U.S., now can we?

Ahh, no. Read the article a bit further. But to your thread topic...it won't happen for quite some time. Smokers out number vapors and it will be that way for about five, ten years. No doubt. Although it is becoming increasingly popular..there are a lot of people who choose cigarettes over e-cigs. Why? I can't honestly tell you. But, more recognition and popularity by the end of the year will most def. put a stop to the "bannning" to come. Just wait and see, keep vaping.

We also have other countries to convince. When I was in South Korea last year they told me ecigs were very unhealthy. I should just stick with cigarettes. In the Philippines they like the idea of vaping but cigarettes are cheaper than vaping. Would you buy a Provari if it cost 30cents for a pack of smokes?

Interesting article.
I don't buy that older smokers are harder to convince, ha my mom got me started vaping. I think it is more about how willing a person is to adopt new technology.
I've been on the net for years, got myself on the net when my dad told me if I could fix his old computer, I could have it. So I got it up and found his dial up account and got online. ( yep this was a long time ago ) My husband had absolutely no use for "computers" until his workplace went online and he had to take tests. Now, he has email and doesn't lose his employee log in anymore because he can check his email.
Not everyone will switch to ecigs. I still don't see them surpassing the smokes in 10 years. While the "smoking" bans are in full force in the US, etc, they aren't in full force everywhere. My husband thought I was nuts until he saw another person vaping. For most people that have been around smokers, if they aren't computer savvy they just don't get the vaping. As surprising as it can seem not everyone is into computers. Just like when they put filters on the smokes, there were diehards who never switched. It has taken an entire generation to come down on smoking, it will take another one to turn to vaping.
I really think that most people who smoke learned it at home or learned it at the home a family friend or somewhere they spent a lot of time as children. Everyone I know that smokes had parents/ family/ whatever and they all smoked around us all our lives, so it considered the same as breathing for them/us.
I hope vaping gets more mainstream, but I don't want to see it become a pharmacy item. I don't want a "scrip" for my vap. I quit the dam smokes without a scrip, I don't need one now.

The tide is slowly turning, and it has the FDA chomping at the bit for something else to regulate and tax the Hell out of. I wonder how long before Marlboro or Camel slap their brand on a PV?

Hey jadams13... I'm really not one of those grammar policemen... but over the years I too have been thinking/saying "Chomping at the bit" - it just sounds right - right? Recently though I learned that it's actually "Champing at the bit" - sounds odd but it is correct - crazy right? :)
