Hey guys and gals of ECF, just started really getting in to vaping, bout to take a trip and was wondering how yall have done with getting vapes through airport secruity and what not. my plan was to throw my MVP and protank 2 (disassembled) into my check in bag... im not a person who is itching for their next vape and can go the 2 hr flight without it. As far as my question goes what are your experiences with airport security and traveling with a vape?

No problems whatsoever. One TSA agent asked me if I had e-cigs, that was the only one.
And once I answered yes he just said they look funny on the scanner and that was that.

Good to know. They're not illegal so I don't think they could really take any action against you once you explained (and they verified) what it was BUT it's really annoying to get stopped and have to deal with that kind of thing in an airport when they're not at all concerned about your schedule. In an extreme case they probably could somehow legally confiscate it. Keep your prized mods in check on.

I fly pretty much every week, all over the world. I usually put all my liquids in a ziplock bag and take it out and send it through the scanner separately. I normally carry 2 mods, a Provari with a tank/carto set up and a Mech mod with a Nimbus dripper fully assembled in my back pack. In the past year I have been asked several times what it was, a few TSA said "is that an e-cig in your bag" and one time I had to disassemble the Mech mod and have it swiped for bomb residue (Washington DC). Nothing that has ever happened to me has been more than mildly annoying and for the most part the airport security are pretty much aware of e-cigs.

Now as far as vaping on the plane I would only do it in the bathroom. I have had several issues trying to vape in the Airport or on the plane. Their reasoning is that it looks like smoking so it will cause a big fuss and no one is going to care about your 10 min explanation of how its vapor and only contains trace amounts of nic in the clouds you exhale. I try to be as respectful of my vaping as I was with smoking around people who do not do it. Better off just holding off until the flight is over.

I recently flew and had a window seat and was really wanting some nic....lol. I just ever so gently bumped my e cig for a few drags not to even make much vapor.....no one even noticed......what are the official rules on his anyway!

I believe it is not allowed....so you're very lucky nobody noticed lol. On a flight longer than 4 hours, I would just sneak into the bathroom. Haven't been in that situation yet. But the longest flight I would take would be back to Toronto from Portland Oregon. It just freaks people out seeing the cloud. Even stealth, many don't know what the device is and can cause panic.

I travel frequently and keep my complete set up (ego twist battery, filled protank, charger and a 5mL filled bottle) in my purse and never got a question. Piece of cake.

Yep, dont keep them in your pocket, travel bag is the best.
Vape in restroom, not that often but: if neighbors will give you a bad look , ask them for Imodium, problem solved!
