So, I'm down here at VapeStock 3 in Florida and I managed to get my hands on a Zenesis 2 DX-650 for the very nice price of $110 (I couldn't swing extra for the tank without sacrificing gas money...sigh). These have the gold plated contacts and voltage drop is slim to none but I noticed the battery rattled a bit. We had a chance to chat with Zen and he's asked everyone who purchased one to get the word out...the battery is supposed to rattle. Apparently it prevents arcing which is a big contributor to dirty contacts. The bottom button pushes the battery up until it contacts the top post. To be honest...I don't even notice the rattle anymore and this thing works wonderfully. As for the VapeStock itself...not as big as VapeBash and far fewer vendors but it was still a good time. It got darn hot for awhile but things got better after the crowd thinned a little. I don't believe they expected such a large turnout. Still an awesome event and had fun chatting with lots of fellow vapors (seemed to be a larger number of new vapors at this meet so we spent a lot of time educating...very enjoyable). Sorry for the single paragraph post...my enter key isn't entererering.

Sorry, that is total BS. It doesn't matter whether it is the bottom or the top, you will have arcing making contact. I like my +pos connection in constant contact with the interruption on the bottom. I welcome all comments. BTW my batteries do not rattle, and oxidation is minimal. Please provide me with the required education on this matter.

Sorry...just reiterating what Zen told me. Perhaps you should take it up with him.

I only use aw imr 18350 batteries. I am using the 18350 tube with the genesis atty. I have talked to a couple other people that have the same problem. I was even using batteries I bought at the electronicstix booth with no luck.

Are you putting it in the right way? What atty are you using on it?

Let me start by saying I had a great time at vapestock 3. It's in my backyard, great to see a local meet. That being said, the main event was like a race with 1200 very sweaty and hot people grinding against each other in a disorganized stampede of anxious attendees sliding around each other to tables that were barely accessible. It was a .... show. That said, every single person whom I talked with was as nice as could be. Uncomfortable as it may have, people couldnt have been nicer. Everyone was really nice and making the best of the very of a very hot and sticky situation. I know it's Florida it's hot and the rains eventually came to cool it off. I imagine I'm not the first person to say something about the crowd and heat, but it was ultimately fun. I also realize I may have posted in the wrong thread.

So I grabbed one of the new zens today and I am having issues with it. None of my batteries will make contact when I fire it. I'm pretty bummed because I feel like for $240 it should work out of the box and I shouldn't have to mod it to work. Is anyone else having this problem?

I've had my 650C for a little over a week now and I'm using flat top Efest IMR 18650 and I didn't have a problem. I got my kick in the mail and now I'm using Efest IMR 18490s with it and it's working fine with that too. Not sure what the problem is...

I picked mine up at Vape Stock and I was using a 18650 battery with the rattle but now I'm using my 18490 with an evolv kick and there is absolutely no rattle. Just FYI.

Someone else reminded me that Zen intended the Z2 to be kickable. Makes sense now. Odd that he didn't mention it during our conversation but as Agent 78 mentioned...it was dang hot.

Yes, it was miserable for awhile...had to go into Marine mode while building some coils in the dark (if you don't mind...it don't matter). We eventually headed out to the car and sat in the air conditioning for about half an hour at one point to play with our new toys. When we went back in they had closed the doors and cranked up the air conditioning which helped immensely.

Still, met a lot of great people. There were a lot of newbies and it was very enjoyable to chat with folks and answer questions. Had a nice chat with the one of the proprietors of J-wraps. He was very interested in how well the wraps were holding up over time so I showed him my well used (and still flawless) USMC wrap on my Provari which he proudly showed to his co-workers. Great guy (but I can't remember his name...shame on me.)
