Vapin donuts

I'm trying to find out more about vapin donuts from fatdaddyvapes. Has anyone used them? I've read reports of catastrophic failures where the ceramic explodes off the wire so I'm not sure it's worth trying. Plus I'm using 18650 mechs and, at least on the divine tribe site, they recommend tc devices. Experiences? Ideas?

Nice idea that didn't work to well and wasn't widely adopted. Stick to wire it's cheaper and probably works better. IIRC they took a lot of power to heat up and stayed hot. Not the best thing to use on a mech mod.

Indeed. I understand that it takes a bit longer to transfer the heat through the ceramic which is a drawback, though the staying hot afterwards doesn't bother me. I wonder what the ramp up time is as compared to a fat kanthal Clapton
