I've recently kicked analogs to the curb and started vaping. My question to others is, is it just me or do others have the problem of a dry throat and waking up spitting cottonballs? My tongue in the morning is coated with white slime and I feel dehydrated. This never happened with ciggybutts? I try to drink a lot of liquid during the day but it still happens every morning, even when vaping, but not as much as waking up. Is this going to be a continuing problem or does it go away? I don't want to have to drink 13 gallons of water a day just to fight dehydration. Any thoughts, experiences, resolutions?

Vaping does dehydrate you but 13 Gallons should be necessary... LOL! Maybe you are sensitive to the PG in liquids? Might want to try and use some 100 VG liquids..... I drink maybe about 60 oz of fluids a day and that's usually enough unless it's REALLY hot and I end up sweating a lot.....

Yup PG is gross and VG is awesome!

Yep, I get shortness of breath with the PG along with the cottonmouth, I have a bottle of Boba's but can't find something to vape it from that doesn't waste it like the poly filled cartos and my Volcano Inferno Tank system can't handle the thickness! This is starting to really get frustrating........:(

On the contrary, I and a friend of mine have both found that VG heavy juices cause excess phlegm buildup. He tries to avoid it, and I do too, but I've also learned to deal with coughing up mucus, as disgusting as it is. Granted, many people don't seem to have this problem, but as long as you drink regularly when vaping, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The OP may want to see if he has any other underlying conditions that are contributing to his dehydration.

I had the same problem, and I went back to using biotene mouth rinse - works like a charm for the cottony dry mouth. I brush my tongue with biotene when it feels ucky, and during the day I drink a bit more water than I used to but nothing outrageous. I use watered down scope original to rinse when out on the go. A rinse with that three or four times a day helps prevent the sticky-dry-mouth-stinging-tongue-and-throat feeling too.

I drink water and have to skip dairy drinks and coffee unless home and can brush my teeth, and I have no problems anymore. Took me until about two weeks ago to perfect my routine though. Definitely biotene before bed and first thing in the morning if nothing else.

**Edited to add: I can't recommend strongly enough NOT using full strength traditional mouthwash - it makes it worse, not better!! It may feel good for a few minutes, but it really dries your mouth out.

Brush your tongue at night, gargle mouthwash - it helps keep bacteria levels normal as they grow much more readily if your mouth is dry and it can lead to other problems like tonsoliths, bad breath etc.

Other than drinking a lot of water, one thing I do is chew sugar free gum as it keeps my saliva levels up and really curbs cotton mouth which I tend to get really badly even with all vg and low nicotine levels (6mg).
