Hey everyone,

New here as of a couple days ago. I started an introduction thread and everyone here has been fantastic. I am waiting on a 510 kit and juices from LF, and I ordered a kit from Greensmoke before I found this place.

I have a couple questions:

1) I'm pretty into fitness, but that has really faded since I started smoking - I've been smoking 6-10 cigs a day for about 4 years. Since starting, I have had trouble with endurance, and really it's just painful. This has an escalating effect because since I hate running and such so much now, I'm way less likely to do it. I'm wondering if anyone experience easier fitness, more energy, etc. as a result of a switch from cigs to vaping? I think part of this is mental, so any thoughts on that are great.

2) I'm sure others are in the same boat, but I tended to smoke alot when I drink. I feel like this makes my hangovers even worse, probably due to dehydration. Then when I'm hung over, smoking tends to make me feel even worse. Obviously, the aim is to avoid cigarettes, and hopefully hangovers, though I know the two are directly connected. I've heard people say that vaping dehydrates you even more, which I'm a bit concerned about. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

I started to exercise almost immediately after going to vaping. My lung function has improved greatly, and I am not nearly as winded after a walk/run (I do intervals) than I was before. A direct result from quitting analogs for sure.

And vaping, especially 100% VG has not dehydrated me, but while I vape at home, I always have something to drink with me, be it tea, water or whatever, right now I have a Fresca, I love Fresca!

...drink more water!!!!!! It's the only way to cure dehydration, whether from drinking or vaping...back in the day, when I was still doing the bar scene, before I went to bed, I would drink a large glass of water to alleviate the hangovers when I awoke...ain't no substitute for a big ol' glass of water.............

I think part of this is mental, so any thoughts on that are great.

Some of it may be mental, but I'd be willing to bet a huge amount of it is physical. Smoking is terrible for both your cardiovascular system and your respiratory system, both of which are very important for physical activity.

I posted a joke thread on the general board about how e-cigarettes have made my .... bigger because I'm kind of obsessed with them right now and doing a lot of online surfing. All joking aside, I play a lot of racquetball and in the one month I've been vaping my endurance has improved. Now, if I just just find time between web surfing and making DIY juices to get to the gym, I would be good. :)

Ahhhh, my old enemy, smoking and drinking. This drove me nuts when I first started vaping. Before the more I drank, the more I smoked. It was ugly and the next morning was even uglier. So when I switched to vaping I had plenty of issues when it came to a night on the town. First one was the vaping wasn't cutting it later on into the night. I fixed that by carrying some higher nic juice with me and switching when I felt I needed more. The second was the massive headache the next day from the combo of beer and vaping. I helped that alot by drinking water before passing out. Sure I had to get up a few times during the night, but it was better than feeling like a truck ran over me the next morning. Heck, I even throw a few glasses of water down during the drinking now to help keep me hydrated. Works wonders. :)

Ha, Thanks guys! I guess I will have to see about the bar scene - Rebel that hint is really useful so thank you. Spazmelda that is my hope - I'm not a marathon runner or anything, but it would be nice to be able to play 2-3 pickup basketball games or get back to my standard 3 or 4 mile run (rather than 1 or 1.5) without my chest feeling like it's about to explode. Madjack thanks for your thoughts as always - you seem to be in the thread before I even post it!
