I had a doctor's appointment last week for my 6 month checkup. I am 64 1/2 years old. I gave them some blood a couple of days before which was sent to the lab with the results ready for my appointment. This was my first visit since being off of the stinkies and vaping.

Results since my last visit:
Lost 20 lbs. Blood pressure normal to the point that doc is considering taking me off of blood pressure meds. Cholesterol normal. Blood sugar 99...normal. Triglicerides normal. CO2 in blood normal. Of the 60 or so parameters measured by the lab, I was withing the normal range in all but 2, and those were both only 1% high and not significant. Doctor listened to my chest and remarked that it was the first time she did not hear wheezing in my breathing. We discussed my vaping and her reply was simple: "You're healthier than you've ever been in the years you have visited me. Don't change anything. Whatever you are doing is working, and working well."

Benefits of vaping? I'd say so.

Fitz - That's wonderful news! Very encouraging and definitely says a lot about the benefits of quitting the smokes with the help of vaping!

Got similar results myself from my check-up last Friday, especially regarding my breathing when he checked it. Doctor is very happy that vaping worked to get me off my 42-year pack and a half a day habit, and it's continued to keep me off them for 2 years as of this past Jan 14th. Hope it does the same for you, too!

Congrats on quitting smoking and a great checkup!

And, congrats on losing weight, although I must say I encountered the opposite situation. I gained a little weight after quitting smoking. Not much, maybe 10-15 pounds. I chalk it up to a few factors: 1) smoking reduced my hunger quite a bit and vaping doesn't as much, and 2) food tasted so much better once I got the stinkies out of my system!

Stopping smoking usually results in a weight gain because of increased appetite or so they say. Nicotine is supposedly an appetite suppressant. Previous attempts at quitting did result in my putting on a few pounds due to eating candies and other sugary foods.

I read this.

And all I could think...

You're still counting 1/2 years?

Pretty positive outlook.

Good to see.

Still dont see the connection of vaping and loosing 20 pounds. Not gaining is fine and all. Loosing 20 has nothing to vaping.
