Vaping and my Gums Question?

Hi, I have a question my brother wanted me to ask. He has been vaping for awhile now. He started vaping 50/50 and it was tearing his mouth up, then he switched to straight vg and it is started to do it again, when I say tearing his mouth up it's eating at his gums and like making a little hole in his tongue does anyone know what he can do? Is he allergic to PG or VG or both? Thanks

I know from experience that when you quit smoking and start vaping that you can develop bleeding gums, This is not caused from vaping, but from the effects of stopping smoking. Smoking can mask a lot of problems, and your body has to adjust. I would advise tho, seeing a dentist, and explaining to him, or her, the problems, and that a switch has been made from smoking to vaping. The little holes in his tongue, I know nothing about.

Thanks for the reply, yea he has been doing this for over a year, and the dentist said it was from vaping so he stopped and then started vaping again. That is when he switched to the straight VG thinking it would stop the hole looking blister thing on his tongue, but it seems to be coming back. I guess maybe he is just allergic to vaping in general. His gums don't bleed, it just almost looks like they are getting eating away by the vape, kinda strange I must say. But thanks a bunch!!!

Thats a strange deal there I would really get a different opinion from a oral doctor as to what is going on I think that dentist just might have something against vaping if he stops vaping and continues to stop smoking do the symptoms clear or worsen?

Unfortunately it cleared up, and the dentist who found the spot on his tongue wasn't worried about it, the oral surgeon was the one who said it was from vaping, his dentist was all for vaping. But he didn't want to start smoking again and thought hey this spot on my tongue went away, it must've been a fluke I will start vaping again, now bam it's back and he is all bummed, so that is why I came here thinking maybe someone else has heard of this or maybe he is allergic to the pg or nic or something.

It could be an allergy to PG or even VG. He really should see an allergist in order to narrow it down. If he does, he should let the allergist know that he vapes and the ingredients in the liquids. PG allergies are very common, VG not quite as common but there nonetheless. The only way to know for sure is to see an allergist.

Again, I wish you friend good luck in finding the solution.

Its so funny how the doctors that we trust can say something is just a fluke when in reality every single thing that happens has a scientific purpose or reason its just finding that reason can be difficult. ....much effort needed

I thank you so much, I told him to try the max PG today he can narrow it down 1 by 1 and I will keep you informed. I appreciate it.
