I try to always vape quietly.
There are many places without rules against vaping but if you push they will just make a new rule.
I really do not like those types, but there are a lot of them in power. Especially around universities.
There are still isolated pockets of resistance in America
where freedom fighters are making valiant stands against
the Nanny State lovers.

all around the globe there are different laws in place, so I cant be sure
but in any case I would phone a lawyer and explain your experience with the guard.
i dont know the details but as I read your post he committed theft and maybe even harassment and if he forced your e-cig out of your hand it could add assault.
--here in Belgium you could just file a report at a local police station and he would lose a chunk of money because of it and if it happens again greater measures would be taken.

anyway it all depends on how everything went down even if you got it back from another guard , he still stole it on public property, right?

He did, snatched it, but it's back. And now I just car vape or bathroom vape.
Here's what's been pissing me off lately.
The building in question is the UK cancer center, so I can understand if I was standing in the doorway and puffing smoke in people's faces. Last couple of days though there have been a harem of smokers with cancer right in the doorway. Now I get it, they have
Cancer, and that sucks, but them smoking those within 5 ft. Of the entrance is worse than me smoking an ecig a distance away. The guard obviously wont say anything because they pay to be there, but still. Why does uk seemingly just hate ecigs?

well again I can only speak for Belgium,
but all major public buildings, most common; a hospital.
have big green lines painted on the ground outside about 10 yards from the entrance witch you cannot pass with a cigarette (analog).
confiscating your cigarette (analog) is stupid so if this hospital rule is broken they can make your pay a fine TO the government
that green line cant be on public property

while speaking of laws : its really stupid in Belgium
using a e-cig isn't burning tobacco of any kind so vaping is allowed
but if you enter for example a store ,you are on private property and they can even refuse you to stay without any reason including for vaping

and the most funny thing about Belgium is that its illegal to sell e-juice with nicotine but its no problem with zero nicotine
probably because you can buy all other ingredients at a drug store ( not sure tho )
anyway it is legal to vape nicotine based e-juice...
that's Belgium for ya lol, but yea I guess there are many other countries with similar stupidities :)

I really don't understand why "tobacco free" policies are put into place. I don't even see how that can happen. When someone is using any form of tobacco product that doesn't envolve smoking/burning tobacco, how can you tell me I can't use it? You aren't harming anyone but yourself and you aren't breaking any laws. Are they going to tell you that you can't drink a caffeinated product just because they don't like it as well?

I have not gotten into a fight in well over a decade. Some rent-a-cop grabbing my vape might put an end to that long period of abstinence. Who the f&*^ does he think he is? He has NO authority to take your personal property, period. I am glad his associate was reasonable and returned your vape to you, and you have adapted to the environment. It is always best to assimilate when you can.

Was that your new clearomizer that the little nazi wannabe took? If so, thank God you got it back!

No that will be here tomorow!
It was a crapy mistic.
Now I just got my ego t. If he had snatched that I would have been angry.
I have to be there daily for work,
I take someone to radiation therapy, and can't make enemies. I'm thinking
That I may need to just use my car with this ego though, because it uses so much more juice, thus more flavor, and a lingering smell of no bake cake! My girlfriend asked if I was making cupcakes today

So I was smoking on the sidewalk, not owned by university of Kentucky. I was talking to a man about to have a tracheotomy about my ecig. He was
Mind blow that it was smoke free. A security officer came up and said "put
That .... out". I relied it was an ecig and the no smoking sign on their property says no cigs no dip. He said tough .... and said to put it out.
Well you guys know you can't put out an ecig. So he the. Proceeds to apprehend my ecig, and I notice that in his pocket is nicotine gum. At this point I'm ....... I point out that his gum is a tobacco product by his fascist definition, and he slammed his window. I finally got my ecig back by another guard who was more sympathetic.
My question, university of ky has
A no tobacco rule. Is this enforceable on a public sidewalk with my ecig? What do I do next time, because I spend 5 hours a day on their property with a client I drive to radiation. Do I have any ground here or should I just bathroom vape and move on?

Hi again,
just an update on my previous posts

I already replied to you but that wasn't a really good time for me...(lack of time or something)
I didn't look for rules of vaping in public (outside) as I presume it is allowed.
I looked it up and you can file a report with the police and cause that guard to get a ticket (price is unknown) as I expected.
He could get away with it if no one backs up your story tho obviously...
Even still when you do this, he wont be doing this again as the second time he will have to appear in court and that could result in a much higher fine (tenfold) or even unknown amount of forced community service (not sure if the use of words is right).

as for your explanation in later posts than my first, the only thing you can get him on is small theft ( or however your call it there)

just to add some info on how i deal with vaping inside public/private building or property.
just ask the owner if you may, a kind word and in some cases some info about it , goes a long way.
even then I dont give up (in a friendly way off course) you can still show your membership card with contact info to let someone else explain it. just showing that card is mostly enough although I never had anyone actually calling the number on my membership card.
90% of the time is just asking if you may enough.
for example; i called the costumers service number of the local public transportation and just asked them if i may vape , 2 seconds later he said yes.
same thing in a restaurant , the smoke zone was full , i asked if i can vape and instant yes
the worst reaction i ever got was when i was at the public swimming pool with an attached restaurant..
i was sitting down at the entrance under a fire detector in view of the bar of the restaurant and after 30 seconds the cook himself rushed towards me screaming "you cant smoke here!!!" after a few minutes talking he got the point when i unscrewed my battery from my carto, after that he kept apologizing for screaming but said if the smoke alarm went of his whole kitchen in the restaurant would be down for 2 hours witch would have been a disaster for the business.

still if you do it like I do you should be much more able to vape indoors , doesn't matter what most ppl think its only one person that decides about that and that's the man in charge in whatever place your are ,what other think about it is irrelevant (for example that guard;he doesn't decide that vaping is not allowed but the guy that pays his pay check does)

hopes this does you some good,

friendly regards,

bryan
