First off, I am NOT trying to start a war by any means. I am just curious as to how many women have vaped during the duration of their pregnancy? I know vaping is by far WAY safer than smoking, especially while pregnant, but is there any chance of it harming an unborn baby? I quit smoking with all of my pregnancies, so I did not have to worry about that aspect, so the question did arise if it is safe to vape while pregnant?

I have not gotten a positive pregnancy test yet, as it is too early to test, but I would like a bit of advice/opinions about the topic. Please nothing rude or harsh, like I said, I am not asking to start a war or battle. If I am pregnant, I don't know how easy it would be for me to stop vaping as I am only 2 weeks smoke free. With my other pregnancies I was put on the nicorette gum in order to quit, and at one point with my youngest child, my doctor said it was too late to quit, and it would cause unnecessary stress on my unborn daughter, but I did quit anyways in my third trimester.

Anyways, just looking for feedback, if anyone knows of anyone who vaped while pregnant, or anyone who has vaped while pregnant.

Thanks
V

We just had our first baby on March 10th.
My wife vaped her whole pregnancy practically.
She started with 0 nic but went up to 6 (sometimes 12).
Our boy came out okay. 7 lb 15 ounces and a lengthy 25 inches long.

I'm middle eastern and back in Lebanon, everyone smoked. Even pregnant women. The people from the old country here just laugh about how some people preach not to smoke. The way they look at it, "we all turned out fine. Our kids all turned out fine. Stop being so sensitive".
Since I was born here, I disagree with them. I don't think anyone should smoke, let alone a pregnant woman. But as for vaping... The way I look at it... When I quit smokes, my body went through a detox of all of the crap I had been absorbing over the years smoking. Coughing up tons of flem, got the famous "quit smoking flu". The whole 9 yards. After a month of being off, and constantly vaping, I felt better. Tasted my food more. Felt better. Felt healthier. And there are thousands of carcinogens in a single cigarette. I saw no disadvantages to her vaping low nic during her pregnancy. Everything turned out okay.

Nicotine is a potential teratogen. Basically meaning they've done studies on animals and have seen effects, but it is not 100% clear as to if it would be harmful in humans or in what amounts. I think I remember reading something awhile back that, because nicotine has vasoconstrictive effects, it can affect placental blood flow. This is something that has been very seldom studied as most studies are conducted on women who smoke, not women who just use nicotine.

I did have a friend that vaped during the last month or so of her pregnancy. She vaped 12mg cig-a-likes. She did end up having complications; however, I doubt they had anything to do with vaping.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, or at least use 0mg juice.
