Its fear of dry socket syndrome. They told me the same when I was smoking (I smoked has soon as I got to the parking lot.). This is just opinion but I've heard that it rarely occurs and the fix is easy if it does. If it was me I would use a nautilus or Aerotank with the air wide open and inhale lightly for a week, don't suck like pulling a milkshake out of a straw (that's what you want to avoid.)

If it was a molar get some rest and hopefully he gave you some pain killlers. When I had a molar pulled a few years ago they had to split the tooth to dig it out, but that didn't bother me as much has the extreme antibiotics he gave me.

Ya.. back with I was 24 and in the Navy, the crappy Navy dentist didnt even try any other way, simply used 90degree pliers and shattered all my wisdom teeth and pulled the pieces.. I was still getting little chunks coming up 6 years later

I just had a root canal and the dentist didn't say anything about vaping. I waited exactly one min, that was the walk from the office to the car. I am now regretting that. Other then regular antibiotics and OTC pain meds. I am on Vicodin for extreme pain. Steroid for loose tooth and nerve pain. My guns feel like they're on fire and I have numbness from some swelling.

This didn't happen right after the procedure. It happen the next day when I was chain vaping at a friends house.

Learn from my mistake and play it safe if you have a major procedure done. I was ok with a hit here and there, but chain vaping is what did me in I believe.

If you wussed out and got an expensive root canal:) you have nothing to worry about, its only the hole left after a tooth is pulled, it can heal as a divet instead of flat, then you get the dry socket. But I think you have to be sucking frozen milkshakes thru a straw for it to happped. Just adjust your tank to wide open for air and there's little to worry about. Dentists have to say stuff like that to cover themselves.

That Navy Job sounds like what I'm in for, had a huge filling fall out on a back molar, that tooth needs out and I hate that spring loaded nut cracker they use to shatter a tooth to scrape it out. Just a matter of time before I'm begging to get into the dentist but I just keep putting it off!

That sounds similar to the Army drill. I did Basic with a fair number of back woods boys who went to the dentist and came back with no teeth at all. Can you imagine having to contend with Basic Training with a mouthful of empty. No kidding; I completed over five years in the service without even thinking of going to an Army dentist.

Any thoughts?

Tomorrow my remaining bottom teeth will be pulled and my dentures placed that I'm supposed to keep in for a couple of days and nights. So I don't expect any problems with vaping since the wounds won't be exposed. Although I don't feel very joyous about the whole thing.

Ask for plenty of pain pills, you have our support I'm just a few years away from the same predicament. That's what 25 years of smoking has done to us. Are you using an oral surgeon or dentist?
