Hello everyone viewing this thread. I am a new member to ECF and new to vaping.

I created this thread because at some point doing my research about vaping I believe I came across someone mentioning in a thread:

to bring your atomizer heads to a hardware store to dispose of them properly.

I'm not sure if that is exactly what I remember reading but regardless I think it is important and neccesary for us to consider an eco friendly way to dispose of our cartomizers, clearomizers ect. when vaping long term.

Any suggestions? What are your thoughts?

I hope that as vapers become more numerous, our municipalities will help us find ways to dispose responsibly of our various bits and pieces like they do paper, bottles, and cans.

What would create a terrible environmental disaster is if the European Union votes to prohibit all e-liquid containers except sealed, unrefillable, single-use cartomizers. This is what they are proposing, and as far as I know, they've included no provisions for proper disposal of the millions of used carts that would result.

I only worry about the batteries. Funny that after decades of smoking cigarettes the "green" movement didn't worry about disposing of cigarette butts "responsibly." I used to sometimes flush them down the toilet or just simply throwing them away in the trash.

Not too worried about coils as I rebuild them myself and the only thing being tossed out is a tiny piece of burnt wick and a miniscule bit of wire.

Isn't the European Union mostly concern about nicotine?
I think that any comment about the disposal of nicotine will be taken as a reason to ban it's use.

I was once involved with stopping a highway through a major cave. In this case if your comment had ten reasons against the road and if in fairness you just happened to mention any minor thing in it's favor it was taken as a yes vote.

I agree that the metal and plastic can be recycled but since there is nicotine involved I don't know of a way to approach this without hurting ourselves.

Found a quote from DummyMe in the thread "Recyling Old E-Cigarette Parts".

"Batteries can be recycled wherever things like cell phones or tool batteries are recycled. Places like Home Depot or Staples. Cartos & Atomizers that are metal can go in with household recycle bin (assuming you have recycling in your area.)

You should recycle all kinds of batteries, if you can."

Does anyone else have knowledge in this area they can share? Are these statements in fact true?

Also, what about plastic clearo's and atty heads. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

How does BP/FDA endorse the disposal of the nicotine patches? I haven't heard of anything in that vein.
