I agree with you all.. I feel a lot better even though its only 13 days today I've been vaping! Last week I asked my wife for 1 inhale of her light strengh cigarette to see if anything had changed in me...and boy, it was DISGUSTING!!! There's no way I'm going back to the cancer sticks! Maybe I am using my PV wrong by inhaling more often than I should?
Nah.
As smokers, we become used to some level of nicotine in our blood streams and will naturally seek to reach and maintain that level whether by smoking or vaping.
The exact amount of "available" nicotine in vapor and the rate of absorption in vaping have not been pinned down exactly. Though it looks like the absorption is slower and maybe not as much is picked up "per puff". Inhaling cigarette smoke into the lungs is a very fast, very... efficient? delivery system. The uptake of the nicotine (and all the other chemicals) is very fast and can reach the brain in seconds. As little as 10 seconds I've read.
I would expect everybody to vape "more than" smoke. The nicotine uptake is different. Less per puff and slower. At least at the beginning when you're trying to find your "sweet spot" (as it were).
I noticed I've slowed down some. Fallen more into a routine in my vaping. I vaped much, much more frequently at the beginning than I do now. So I'm thinking I adjusted my habits and my inhale to maximize the nicotine and developed new habits to hit and maintain the level of nicotine that keeps me from having cravings.
I did not quit smoking totally at first. I slowed down and slowed down and slowed down until the day I just didn't bother buying another pack. Then for a few weeks, had a "longing" for cigarettes. Not strong. I just... "missed" them?
Then that went away.
Somewhere along the line, by practice and experimenting with different liquids and different nicotine levels, I found my equilibrium. I admit to once in a while thinking of cigs with a bit of "fondness" (I don't have any other word for it) but it's not a craving. I guess since I smoked so long, it's like I miss my... my friend? The "friend" that was screwing up my health (yeesh... not much of a friend eh?).
Only about two weeks of vaping, you're still "settling in". I wouldn't worry about it. You get too much nicotine, you'll know. Trust me. I had to adjust my nic levels down when I discovered I was keeping myself awake until two, three in the morning. Nicotine is a stimulant. I was vaping too much at too high a level right before bed. It was like having coffee before bed!
Nah. You're on the right track. I was getting winded just taking out the trash. After a month of vaping, I went and emptied my storage in two days. Hauling boxes of books (!) and, so help me, a big gun safe. Which I moved by myself.
Worse than smoking? I don't think so...
