OK Everyone I have begun the construction of the vaping Cabinet/Docking Station. I have had to stop because this has been too much of an over load on the shoulder. Will work on it more tomorrow. But this is what I have done so far. As I told you in an earlier post I am having to use a pre-cut box. Basically its a storage box that I bought at Target. I am just modifying it to fit what I need it to be. I tried cutting my own boards but that went about as well as a Tornado going through a trailer park and no damage being done. In other words it wasn't happening. I am having to cut some boards to fit and am going to cut out the design I chose (the circles but with a twist) on my own but am definitely feeling it now.

Like I said I am gonna work on it some more tomorrow. I didn't want to stop when I did but the shoulder began to start hurtin real bad, my hand began going numb to the point I couldn't feel the drill, the bicep tendon and muscle began cramping and the shoulder began to stiffen and lock every now and then. It was when my hand went numb with out warning as I held the drill at my side and the drill slipped out and landed on my foot that I said to myself that that was enough for the day....

I can't build anything like that... but I've put down tile and carpet, replaced my bathroom sink, done quite a bit of electrical, built a fence, roofed my garage, rebuilt a wall over a waste stack in a brick chase, remodeled a whole bathroom- you name it, I've done it around here! This winter is when I get to learn masonry... I have to re-point my stone basement interior and parge it. If that goes well (and I can find the proper lime mortar) next summer I'll do the exterior stone foundation.

I also have to rebuild my front porch, but that will have to wait until after I have a new hip LOL.

Good for you, nice job :)

I appreciate that. Its nowhere near done yet though. I still have to build and install shelves, an interior storage cabinet, install the lights, and then the doors. The doors are gonna be a lot of fun to do. Dbl door, with 2 dragons in a heart shape formed around the door knobs with wing span. This design will be burnt into the wood. And mind you, My last art class was in my 9th and 10th grade year in high school and I passed with a C and my last wood shop class was in 8th grade and we wont talk about that grade. LOL... I just wish I didn't have this Shoulder disability so I could do more to it at a time and do a better job. Damn that Physical Therapist........ But it is what it is and now I have to live with it and push myself to try harder. I am only doing this to prove to myself I can do it....

Sounds interesting can't wait to see the finished project.

Yeah depending on how hot it gets here tomorrow I am gonna try and get as much as possible done on it. If its too hot then I will just stay in the AC and attempt to draw this door design out. I may have to recruit my soon to be 16 yr old Step Daughter on the art work if I can get it down. She is the one studying to be a Computer Graphics Art at a Magnet High School and going to college to persue the same. Her dream is to work for Disney, Dream Works, or Sony. She is highly talented with animated cartooning... I told her just the other day that if none of that worked out for her she could always be a tattoo artist. Boy did I get the look from hell and beyond. LMAO

OK So I lied. I did do alittle work on the cabinet today LOL... I went ahead and cut, sanded and stained the back wall of the cabinet. I am going to do one more coat on the back wall but to get this effect for the doors I am gonna do one coat on them like this. The heart shaped dragons burnt into the wood will look awesome in this shade.

Nice work on that. Light stain or dark? If you are burning the design in, a light stain may make it pop more.

Its gonna be a medium Cherry Stain. Have done a test run on a old piece of board. Scribbled out a design with the wood burner, sanded it down and did one coat of the medium cherry stain and let it dry... It looked sharp so I am hoping for the same results on this.

Looks great so far. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
. Thanks and me too.... This probably has been the most challenging thing I have made myself do and not give up on since my accident and 2 surgical attempts to repair my shoulder... I know that this has been the most painful project...
