Hey everyone,

I am new to this site and was just wondering if anyone has suffered with hair thinning? Since vaping my hair has gone really thin and even have such thin areas at the side of my head where you can see my scalp. Plus my scalp is red and itchy! Anyone else had this? I have a kanger tech evod2, I'm also having a few dizzy spells but only on 6mg/3mg of nicotine with a 50/50 mix of pg/vg. I really don't want to quit vaping it has been a life saver and I actually prefer it to cigarettes. I recently had blood tests to rule other things out and it was all normal. Anyone had this or heard of anyone? Not sure what I can do any suggestions?! Thank you. For reading my post.

Go to an allergist and have them run their battery of tests to see if you are somehow allergic to PG or VG or maybe some of the ingredients in the flavors of the juices that you vape on.

My hair has started to thin but I can't attribute it to vaping but rather getting up there in years.

Been vaping a year and a half never heard this. My hair is turning gray and I'm only 24 but I contribute to my father's genes since he went gray at this age. I just shave my head more often haha. I have female friends that has vaped for a year and I just asked one of them (as awkward as that was to text her), her hair hasn't thinned at all.

I had a little 1 inch round bald spot on the back of my head immediately after I started vaping. Of course I attributed to vaping. I went to a dermatologist. It was something she called alopecia. It would last, however long it lasted. She said she could give me shots around the round spot and hair should grow back quicker. I asked her how much and it was like 100 bucks. I said fine. Needless to say 30 shots in a 1 inch area is a lot of shots. She would have numbed it for me but I said it wasn't necessary. Well, when she says "ooops" that one I got too deep. Yeah it hurt.

Thank you for the replies unfortunately I think it has to be the vaping as it started to shed as soon as I started. My family have no history on either my mum or dads side. It is at the very front hair line. I accidentally got juice in my mouth 6 weeks ago and had a terrible reaction. I was itching all over, particularly on my scalp and for this reason I feel I can no longer vape. The next day I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I am so peed off as vaping worked for me. I love it but can't continue as my hair is just not happy. Strange thing is I have tried patches, gum and the inhalator and none of these affected me at all. Feel very disheartened.

You should really discuss this with a Doc. Even then, they may not know. Let's do this

What is in eliquid?

Typical items

1) Propylene Glycol
2) Vegetable Glycerin
3) Artificial Flavorings

PG and VG are in toothpastes, makeup, hair gels, ice cream almost anything and everything we use in everyday use. Chances of being allergic to PG are slim to none. It could happen but is very rare. VG is more common but still rare. (I could have these backwards)

Artificial Flavorings could cause an allergic reaction to you. It could also be an additive in it. One reason I DIY. I don't trust eliquid manufactures. I also happen to like very lightly flavored/unflavored liquid.

Whatever you do think along common sense lines then see a doc. It is very natural in the beginning, to believe vaping did this.. Vaping did that. Chances are slim it is the cause.

You must also realize the chemicals added to cigarettes also "mask" other conditions your body has. It could very well be smoking "cured" your other ails.
