Can somebody tell me if I'm vaping properly. Every ecig site that sells them promises "clouds" of vapor when you use their product. I own 4 EGO style e-cigarettes and when I puff on them I only get a modest amount of vapor. I even puff on it until my cheeks hurt from puffing so hard sometimes. Am I missing something here? I admit I get more vapor with my EGO style than when I used the traditional e-cigarette.

Which eliquid is better for vaping PG or VG? I've heard that using VG gives a thicker vapor than PG. Can the EGO style ecigs use VG or would it gum up the clearomizers? How many users on this forum use VG eliquid? Does it give a better vape than PG? I'm sorry for all the questions, I'm still a newbie when it comes to e-cigarettes.

VG tends to put out more vapor from what I've heard, but in my limited experience even a mixed pg/vg juice can give you good vapor.

Unless you want to be a mobile fog machine, though, I'd say worry less about the vapor and more about if you're getting a satisfying vape that knocks your cravings out.

I agree with both comments above.

Several factors are involved to get more vapor. Higher content of Vg (vegetable glycerin) in e-liquid. More heat (higher voltage). Lower resistance atomizers (heating coils). More surface area for coils to heat a larger wick (rebuildable atomizers or RBAs).

Although I admit, it's satisfying to see clouds of vapor, along with throat hit they take a back seat to flavor production as far as I am concerned. As long as I can taste my flavors at their fullest, I'm happy.

I currently have 2 x DV eGo CE4+ Clearomizer - Red 2.4 Ohms 2 x DV eGo CE4+ Clearomizer - Blue 2.4 Ohms, a red, blue, green Vision eGo V2 Stardust Clearomizer 2.4ohm, EGO Clearomizer (CE5) 2.4ohms, VOLT X2 Clearomizer 2.6 -2.9 ohms.

The batteries I have are eGo-T 1100mAh Battery - Black, PowerPal eGo-T Batteries Chrome650mAh, eGo-T 650mAh Red, Volt X2 Battery Passthrough Blue 900mAh Automatic X² Battery.

Sorry it took so long, I had to go through my orders to get the specs.

Preferably, you want 2.0-3.2Ω... so what you're using looks OK to me. I tend to use 2.2-2.7Ω with eGo batts.

As to the art of vaping... draw the vapor in easily, slowly and for a longer time than you might smoke a cig. A count of 3-4 usually works. If your using clearomizers and the draw is too "airy"... in other words you "puff on it until my cheeks hurt", try covering one or two of the air holes in the base of the clearo. This will "firm up" the draw and can sometimes improve the flavor.

That's all I got,
C

As posted above, higher vg does increase the vapor, but the trade off is less flavor and gunking up your coils.

You might consider lowering the resistance of your delivery systems. When I was using a regulated battery (Joyetech ≈ 3.3v), I used 1.7Ω to 2.2Ω, depending on how the juice tasted.

I'm pretty new to this but I will add my two cents.

I get a lot more vapor production using a Protank or Davide glassomizer than I do using the CE4s or CE5s. I think they are just superior at delivering the juice to the coil.

But also, I get more vapor on the Provari mod than on my eGo batteries. So to me, it's been worth investing in the larger battery mod and the glass tank bottom coil/bottom wick toppers. The downside is if you drop them, they're gone. But honestly the vape is just so much better. Now, if I vape on one the CE4s that I started off with, I'm left a bit unsatisfied.

I think there is definitely an evolution to the art of vaping. I'm ready to start looking into rebuildables and mechanical mods now because I want pure taste and a nice cloud every hit. I wasn't interested in doing that at all when I first began.

Much easier to stop the cloud chasing and just worry about what satisfies you for taste and feel. I generally prefer 100% PG so, no fog banks around me but it tastes the best that way, minimizes cleaning and rebuilding and, I like the feel of my vapor, the way it wicks and all. No cloud is just fine if it's what you like.

Should I invest in a variable voltage battery? Is duct tape good for covering one or two of the holes on the clearomizer?
It certainly wouldn't hurt. The best "bang for your buck" is probably the iTaste VW 3.0 from iVape for $34.

Any kind of tape will work fine. I use a short piece of 1/2" surgical tubing and slide it up, down and sideways to cover 1 or 2 holes. 1/4" diameter works well with the 510 collar and carto tanks. It's something you'll have to experiment with to find what satisfies you.

I am new to vaping myself, I keep seeing videos where people would take huge long draws, I was thinking man how do they do that and why they want so much vape in there mouth, well once I got mine I figured out how and why they were doing it, you have to do get any warm vape( i don't like it warm cause feels like a cig then and makes me cough) but also it takes a big long one to get much vap out, or you can like suck it then stop then suck again, the vap comes out your mouth while your doing this, I don't know why but it makes you have lot more vapor after you do it.

I have draw on mine the one in my sig. a 1000 batt with ce5 clearomizer, and sucked until the unit kicks off for safety keeps you from burning up the coil from the heat of it.

also fresh off the charge you get more.

I wouldn't use tape. The area get warm and the tape will be sticky. Some people block the holes with toothpicks.
I used cellophane tape on a T3 for a few days until I got some better ideas... never dawned on me that it might get that hot, but the tape did stay stuck and did come off with no schmutz left behind.

If you want to try a couple things, you should!
Variable voltage would very likely make a big difference - even bumping up .1 volt can increase the vapor a lot.
Also, you may want to try another style of clearomizer. The EVOD is SUPER popular, easy, and fits well on all the Ego batteries.
I'd recommend you try them with a 1.8 ohm coil though - even without Variable Voltage, you'll get more oomph from an Ego with a lower resistance coil.
