So I was trying to respond to a thread but being I am brand new I can only post threads for whatever the reason? For the first 5... Anyway I've noticed that vaping leave a thick streaky residue on my windows in my house and in my vehicle on the glass so can see how thick it is and wipe it with you finger.. But I know it has to be better than yellow nasty tar left over from cigarettes.. It has to be better on your lungs than cigarette smoke...does anyone know anything about this thick residue left behind? And I've also noticed since I've been vaping the last 4 months sometimes I become winded and out of breath and I read somewhere that the hot vapor causes your lungs to swell for about ten minutes so I don't know if that's why I feel winded sometimes or if it's the thick heavy residue becoming stuck on my lungs? So does anyone know anything about this thick residue created from eliquid or if it has the ability to cause you to become winded? After seeing it on my windows I started to wonder what's it's doing to my lungs? And information or opinions will be appreciated! Thanks Sal.

Since I quit smoking, I've been anything but winded. I picked up running with my dog again, even. In colder months when vaping in my car I notice a slight film, but nothing thick. Nothing on my home windows, and I live in an RV, so that's a lot of clouds in a small space. I usually vape fruity or bakery flavors light in color. Wish I could help more.

Incorrect, in fact, you probably shouldn't post new threads. You can respond to other threads, but only in the New Members forum for the first 5 posts.

As to your topic, it does happen. I had my car thoroughly cleaned when I stopped smoking, but I still get a bit of residue on the inside of the windshield from vaping.

This is off topic but, I always wanted to live in an RV. Everyone thinks that I'm insane when I mention it. I'm not saying it isn't true, I just don't want them thinking that way.

It does cause a film on the inside of windows. My brand new work vehicle (which has never been smoked in) got it because I vape with the windows up. I use Invisible Glass spray to get it off. It's probably just VG/PG that you exhale clinging to the surfaces. There have been a couple of threads here about it.

According to the threads last page it's temperature dependent. Which I kind of agree with. As it's gotten colder in Georgia, I've noticed it a lot more.

Background: I smoked for 30 years and the last 3 years I smoked I was winded all the time and had a rattle in my chest, I started researching the e-cig/vapor world and was really a skeptic it took me 3 years of research to determine I would give it a go. I have been 398 days without an analog and was asked by my doctor what I have done different because my vitals had improved tremendously. I now run and bike with my grandson, my doctor asked if he could do some tests and labs on me ( this was 97 days after making the switch to a vape) in the interest of science so I agreed and my blood oxygen concentrations were 60% higher, my lung capacity was 40% better, my blood nicotine levels were 70% lower than when I was smoking 2.5 packs of camels a day and my blood pressure was that of an athlete in training. I have never had any thick film on my windows and have not had any lung related issues. The only health issue I have had since making the switch is that 2 weeks after switching I dropped my mod and broke the glass on my Protank2, having a nic fit over the deal I had a half pack of camels in the truck figured well I hate to do it but I'm going to go nuts lit one up took a long drag flicked it out the window while nearly choking to death opened the door and threw-up it was the nastiest taste I have ever experienced. 3 months or so later my wife left a camel burning in the ashtray on the porch so I tested the water again and had the same result as before I was repulsed by the taste and threw-up. I also have to say that it has been great not having had a migraine headache in over a year. I vape a 10/90 VG about 70 ml a week so I'm a pretty heavy vaper and I subohm at .15 on my RDA as I have a new found hobby/addiction "CLOUD CHASING"! Good luck with the film but I have never encountered that problem and I'm in the best physical health in 15 years easily.

The film on the windshield is definitely a problem for me. My wife suggested a solution of vinegar and water. Didn't work. Next try will be Windex, then alcohol if that doesn't work. I DIY my juices at 50/50. Once I decided to try a 70% PG and felt a definite heaviness in my lungs so switched back to the 50/50.

I had the opposite reaction. Switched to e vender with higher VG and got a little heaviness. Went back to 60/40 and no problem.

I have some residue on the windshield of my car and Windex took care of it. I will mention that non smokers/vapors get residue from whatever and need to clean their glass too.
I have only been at this four months this time and have no scientific evidence to back my claims BUT I feel ten times better! so far. Skin looks better, I think even some of my hair color is coming back.............. and not just because the tar stains are gone from my mustache, heh which I thought was all that was left of my old color :). What a dip.

It might be off topic, But my wife and I have been living in our RV since December 31st of 2013.We love it but we keep ending up in Ohio for the winter months. I think we are doing it backwards.

If you are smoking/vaping with nicotine, expect to see a little residue. If you vapor has nic, you are going to see some residue of that. Not nearly as bad as the nasty stuff left by smokes.

I read about this in another thread last week but no one knew what it was. Thanks for pointing out the nic issue. When I smoked the residue had to be cleaned off with ammonia and a razorblade. In the other thread they mentioned Invisible Glass to clean and then RainX anti-fog to keep it from coming back. I haven't tried the anti-fog stuff yet but the vape residue is definitely easier to clean.

Yes I saw that post too so now I Vape in the car with the window open a bit. Too early to tell if this is working yet because I've had quitters flu so not been out in the car for a while.

Yes, it leaves residue.
No, vapor is not hot (you can feel it with your mouth).
As for residue in lungs... No definite answer, but I hope that PG and VG are rather water-friendly and in wet lungs they will be absorbed and digested. Not so sure about flavorings.
I would respectfully disagree that vapor is not hot. Depending on the resistance of the coil , current and airflow the temperature of the vapor coming off the coil can vary from cool to extremely hot.
This is the focus of an impending study by Dr. Faustino and the function of the new Evolv DNA40.
