The same reason I got it from NN. For a clean nic, it is perfect. I guess I like my nic a little dirty though.

I've been using MFS nic for 3 years or so. I recently got a bottle of Nude Nic to try, just out of curiosity. The difference isn't drastic; but the NN is cleaner than the MFS. Both are good. The MFS just has a bit more 'bite' than the NN. Some people actually prefer the slight peppery taste.

I really dont understand this...

It's the absolute OPPOSITE of what Ive heard over the years ie. feedback from non-vapers and non-smokers .People-even the most snarky & "difficult" who dont compliment easily- actually tell me how GOOD it smells when I vape near them !
And no odours remain on my clothes or in the room afterwards....(as was the case previously with analogs)

Then again, I dont push out very BIG clouds and most importantly I guess it may depend on what type of flavourings one uses....?

I usually use NATURAL fruit flavorings whenever I can or else at least premium fruit and or bakery type liquids....aromas that will probably appeal to most people..so that too may come into play ???

This is an extreme example but hear me out. :)

After the last vape summit in Houston when I got home, the smell on my clothes was freakishly similar to all night smoking at the bar clothes. Too much of anything....

Very informative thread. I started DIY a week ago and the first thing I discovered is I prefer way lower % of flavor than the pre mixes I've been buying online. I have some left over pre mix that I don't want to vape but may be I'll like it better cut down 50 or 75%. Another thing I really like about my DIY batch is coils seem to be lasting indefinitely instead of gunking horribly every 2 days. I'm also realizing I don't want flavors that encourage me to vape more. I'd rather be vaping less ml's than more. I use RDA's exclusively because they are small and hard to break. Temp control and DIY liquids that don't gunk make rda's way easier. Good thread.

"I was talking about pure Menthol, not some flavor that has Menthol in it's name." That's how most of us here buy our Menthol, Not the Crystals. I didn't even know that we could get crystals. I see that You're in Vienna, I haven't checked (cause I didn't even know about them) to see if WE can get Menthol Crystals in Pharmacies here or not, with the way the Laws are getting anymore with the Government trying to protect us from ourselves and all. Interesting to hear about anyway, Thanks.
here is one supplier in the U.S http://wizardlabs.us/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=117&search=menthol. I tried unflavored but did not enjoy it. still use it to prime new wicks. but generally like between 1 to 5 % flavoring depending on the flavor. tobacco flavors and vanilla bourbon are a lot stronger than cream or fruit flavors. 4 or 5 drops of vanilla bourbon in 30ml of juice will overwhelm any other flavor.

Most Menthol is extracted from plants. I wouldnt worry too much, it's a single substance, not a complex mixture.
Much like salt is salt, Menthol is Menthol.
As with many widely used natural products, the demand for menthol greatly exceeds the supply from natural sources. In the case of menthol it is also interesting to note that comparative analysis of the total life-cycle costs from a sustainability perspective, has shown that production from natural sources actually results in consumption of more fossil fuel, produces more carbon dioxide effluent and has more environmental impact than either of the main synthetic production routes.[8]

Menthol is manufactured as a single enantiomer (94% ee) on the scale of 3,000 tons per year by Takasago International Corporation

My kids compare second hand flavored vapor smell to a really bad smelling flavored incense stick. The incense stick is meant to be fruity or sweet but it smells horribly musky and stale when you burn it and aroma starts to spread. I think with us vapors our sense of smell goes like our taste buds after awhile of vaping something so we don't particularly notice it like others do.

I have been around others who were vaping other flavors then i was and started noticing the same thing...it smells stale and unpleasantly musky. My kids say the drawer where i kept my flavors smells one way, but upon exhaling it..it smells really bad...like a sour stale fruity flavor. I started noticing smells on my cloths and hair as well and it wasn't pleasant nor smelled the way it did when vaping it. It's like some foods...fish for example or garlic..it taste really good when we eat it, but the after taste and smell is really unpleasant.

I think the smell to others depends a lot on the particular flavor(s) and the 'insides' of the exhaler..

That is very possible regarding particular flavors, but if were the insides of the exhaler, vaping non-flavored would present an unpleasant smell as well though IMO.

The last vape shop I was in had a quite nasty stale strawberry smell to it.

I have a love for certain flavors just as much as the next person does, but i am learning to respect flavoring for a variety reasons i have stated in this thread and only use it as an occasional treated. I do feel like i am greatly reducing questionable harms that i do believe exist... and that is because of the way my lungs have responded when i was vaping flavoring all the time, opposed to now only vaping unflavored....that right there is all i need to know i don't need studies to tell me it will hurt my lungs over time..it was already hurting my lungs because they were hurting and now not.

I do think those of us who do have compromised respiratory conditions are the ones who will notice potential problems first and foremost because our lungs are more sensitive and responsive, where as those who do not have respiratory issues with their lungs... their lungs will be late to the game in showing warning signs because their lungs can tolerate a lot more before being affected by it. Course this is just me and my two cents and not intended to offend those who feel differently about flavors and their choice to use them.

Last time I went to Vape Bash it was the same way. The whole hall stunk to all hell and you could smell it on your clothes.

It depends on the tank and the power level.

Right now I'm hitting an Aromamizer at 40w with some 1% DIY and thinking next batch maybe half that is plenty.

Later I'll switch to my usual set up at 30w and 5% will be good.

In my low power high nic set ups 10-20% are needed. I see most of the old school high nic resipies call for 25-30% flavoring.

Reading the ammount of flavoring old school vapers took in I don't think modern subohm vapers have much to worry about. To get the same ammount of flavoring in from an Aromamizer that I get from my Kabuki I would have to vape like 50ml a day. Since I'm under 10 if say it's much better even at full flavoring.

That said my goal is .5-1% menthol only with low/no nic and high VG. Almost there but I admit my lemonade still calls my name.

My wife has recently made comments about one of my favorite juices. I like Nicoticket's ACB. Nice and sweet with a hint of tobacco flavor. She has decided she doesn't quite like the aroma and the vapor makes her cough. Strange coming from someone who smokes. I've had to alter my rotation so I'm not vaping that particular juice around her.

I hear that. When I started out on my Spinner 2/EVOD2 the vape shop sold me they said 12mg/mL nic juice would be strong enough for someone just coming off of tobacco. WRONG !! Within 2 weeks I had worked myself up to 30mg/mL nic in that little EVOD2 at 4.2v/1.5 Ohms. It really wasn't until I got my first AeroTank that I started to bring my nic levels down, I couldn't even taste the flavors at that point in time. Now, in my New Cthulhu V2 I have to thin the flavor of my long time favorite Madagascan Vanilla by half with Unflavored, and am down to 6mg/mL in nic strength while running at 15W. I would say that the equipment does indeed have something to do with it.
