Firstly, forgive the cheesy title.
Thinking about being Christ centred in mind body and soul I embarked on this journey of self discovery.
Not the hippie dippie visit the tombs kind of discovery but questions of faith and how I have abused just about every blessing that have come my way.
So since 2008, I have tried in small ways to bring myself closer to being congruent - sort of walking the talk.
Ministry work was one.
Long story short, I have been struggling to reclaim my body, the greatest blessing and instrument.
One of the items was fitness and health and the blessing of rebuilding my career/financial situation included moving from public housing to a private condo with a pool and gym.
So a lifestyle decision with mindfulness in the way I eat and nourish has been a milestone with some weight loss and a general sense of wellbeing (most of the time).
Anyway, last year Dec 25, I walked by a Vape store in SFO during a family vacation.
A lot of curiosity and very little faith. I walked out with an EVOD starter and 2 bottles of 18ml Uncle Junk Jon Waynes'.
After some research, I decided to kick the 32 year 40 stick a day habit using the APV as a tool.
(I am now on a Hades clone mech mod 26650 with a Genesis style Kracken clone RTA)
60 days on, it has not been easy as all things associated with e-cig has been banned (where I live)
But I have managed and I have not looked back since (60 days on, I have smoked a total of 60 sticks).
So, this Lenten season, I am still on the journey to quit, and one of the items is to only use pure unflavoured VG.
I love my dessert flavours and have sneaked in 6 - 24mg nic juices ( it has helped keep the urges at bay)
But Lent 2015, I will try this (only unflavoured VG zero nic) and was wondering if anyone would join me in making this small offering.
Thanks for reading.
Wishing you every blessing this Lenten Season!

Sounds like your dealing with guilt to me. I would have to be under the law to be guilty but when I found out that Jesus died in my place on the cross and I believed it by faith, I asked God to forgive me and right there and then at that moment I was under Grace and not under the law anymore. My faith is in what Jesus did not what I did or what can I even do it's all about Him and what He said in the Scriptures and the power of God not me. Would you like to talk about faith?

    Shalom mightyman!
TBH, I had to do that myself because up to that point of being told that I was (interestingly by a convert), I was happily walking around with the label Part-Time Christian even Sunday Catholic .... (lol)
    Anyway, thanks for the welcome!
    God Bless!
What's this all about "interestingly by a convert"

    Well said!
Put it this way, growing up I was taught and fixated on the cross; the crucifixion and the events that lead up to it.
Then something very personal happened and I began to look beyond the cross, and the crucifixion and all else took a different meaning.
Thereafter, every breathe and every moment is steeped in grace and gratitude.
    There is life after guilt.

Sounds to me like you knew what Jesus did but were lacking in something like believing then one day you had faith in what Jesus did for you and from that time on you received knowledge and understanding.

Jesus did say "in Me you may have peace"

First of all, I apologize to everyone about my absence from the board this past week. My husband has been fighting a massive infection and many of the chores we share was on me. That, of course, is no big thing, except OPM, I am disabled. So, it's been a very interesting on top of that as I have been battling my usual ailments and this has been on of the most difficult weeks I've had in awhile, but Jesus and I are punching through it.

OPM, sounds like you've had a 'come to Jesus' moment. Different religions have different teachings. It sounds to me, and I could be 100% wrong, that you've met Jesus. Take all of the different religions away and stand on Scripture. Now the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible are different. The Catholic Bible has extra books in it to substantiate 'why' they do things different than the Protestants. Ask Almighty God to reveal Himself in the Scriptures so that He becomes real to you......because He is! In the Book of James, it states that if anyone lacks wisdom, God will give it to you in abundance.

James 1 New King James Version

    Greeting to the Twelve Tribes

    1) James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad:

    Greetings.

    Profiting from Trials

    2) My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3) knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4) But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7) For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8) he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Now I talk to the Father and Jesus all the time with understanding through the Holy Spirit, but I don't always hear His voice. My household has been hit repeatedly from satan.......one after the other after the other. I prayed for changes and He told me He was taking care of it. So that settles it. I do wish it was sooner than later, but that is where patience comes in. I am not a fan of patience. (One time I prayed for patience and got hit upside the head over and over. I've not done it since, but I do pray for wisdom, which tells me not to pray for patience!) Do I believe He will take care of it? Yes I do! Do I trust Him enough to get us through all the mess? Yes I do! But, God is on a different timetable than we are. He is always on time, never early and never late. I'd prefer earlier than later, but it doesn't work like that.

Isaiah 40:31 New King James Version

31 But those who wait on the Lord
    Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
