It's been awhile, I never worried about an exact date. The big difference in noticed was my sense of smell returning to me even though this cold isn't helping right now. Also not out of breathe walking somewhere or exercising

4 years since my last cigarette. Almost a year nicotine free.

I can breathe better. My sense of smell and taste are coming back. Since i started vaping i have has much less issues with bronchitis.

For the last three years i havent needed a round of antibiotics for my lungs.

For me it's been 6 years and although I smoked for close to 30 years, I never felt the affects of tobacco day to day , I did however feel the affects whenever I got a cold or especially a flue. My chest would back up for weeks and took it a while to clear. So after vaping for maybe 3 to 5 months, that totally went away.

I don't actually notice a ton of difference, as in night and day, but one is really super clear: I used to notice myself wheezing/whistling at night when sleeping. Like I would notice a whistling noise, and be "what IS that?" and then realize it WAS MY OWN BREATHING. I don't have that any more. Total Win. Also not getting colds and similar nearly as much.

And on preview, seeing vapdivrr's comment: yes! I used to get a cold or the flu and it would last for ages. Since I started vaping, these things pass in a normal short period.

I have noticed significant results. Namely my blood work, while it may have been a combination of factors but smoking definitely played a role in my cholesterol and the inability for my body to get rid of it so those numbers went from scary into normal range. Another with colds i dont hardly cough anymore is it the not smoking or is it the vape keeping my lungs moist? My daughter started kindergarten after having never been in large social environments such as that since i am a stay at home dad, we have been sick off and on a bunch with the crud that went around but it does pass in short order and with less painful symptoms of the virus'. Everything smells better not to say i ever really lost my sense of smell but now when i smell a cig it makes me gag. Cardio is definitely easier without worrying about my lungs exploding. Smoking itself especially on a night of drinking when i could put a pack away in that single night alone the next day feel much better without all the toxins. Biggest factors that lead me to the decision was my kids and the $$ seeing my blood work was the last straw. After quitting my blood work got 300% better within less than 60 days it was bad. Should mention i am not overweight by any stretch 6'2" 185-195lbs depending on the day of the week. I drink about 2 gallons of water a day not in one sitting but bottle after bottle.

Significant. Significant health improvements.
I was a 1.5 pad smoker for ten years. I couldn't go up a flight of stairs without wheezing. And I developed really bad copd. I couldn't sleep for more than an hour and a half without waking up. Literally 7 times a night.
After 2.5 years of vaping: I sleep like a baby 10 full hours a night. Copd GONE.
Just ran a mile no problem.
Blood work much better too.
I'm converting people all the time. Giving them my old gear. Saving lives.

Since august 27, 2016. I was diagnosed with COPD and had to use an inhaler every day. After switching to vaping I no longer need the inhaler!

I actually like the smell of unlit new cigarettes/cigars... I know I'm screwed up in the head.
Am a vaper thru and thru but I still love my cigars. Maybe 5-6 cigars a year and I don't inhale. I see no reason to give them up as I have multiple humidors of top Cubans and these's not a chance in hell they are being thrown out/given away.

Re: health.. my breathing is better, my blood pressure is down, I don't stink, my cars don't stink, I don't hack up throat oysters every morning and I rarely get colds/flus. Night and day according to my doctor when comparing my smoking vs vaping bloodwork/physical.

Oh, I haven't had a cigarette in just over a year and my wife just hit 7 months.

I've been vaping 4 years. What I can do now, play with my grandchildren without having to stop and rest (and of course have that cigarette while catching my breath LOL). When I use the elliptical now, my legs get tired before I get so winded that I cannot go on.

I just got my first sickness since I quit smoking. Back then, I would absolutely get bronchitis. This time, my lungs never got bad. I did take antibiotics. As a smoker, I would go through a couple of rounds of antibiotics before I could kick it. This time...I am almost 100% and it hasn't been the full round yet. Yes, I will finish off those last three pills. Oh, and I didn't get a prescription for cough medicine. I just used my trusty whisky, honey and lemon (in equal parts) and only needed that for a couple of days.

All in all, 4 years in and this is the first time I've even had an inkling of being sick. Hubby has been calling me a freak since he has had numerous colds in that time frame.

Wow that's really incredible. My brother is in the same boat, I tried and tried to get him to vape to no avail. He is a heavy smoker and will have a cig, then hit his inhaler...

It took less than 3 weeks to get off the inhaler. I remember before I started vaping somebody who vaped told me they didn't understand why people still smoke cigarettes. I said that was a very bold statement. But now I will never go back after smoking over 25 years.
