So I had to go to the Federal Court today for a swearing in ceremony and this is what happened.

I get through security with my ego no problem, we stand in line waiting to be led into the room where they do the ceremony and a security officer asked what I had in my shirt pocket. I tell him basically its an e-cig and how it works, he says huh, cool. We were then led into the hall, some instructions were given then given a 10 minute break before its starts.

This is what concerns us. I asked a court officer how to get into the outside courtyard, he asked why, I showed him my vape pen to which he responded "Oh, you can use that in the break room right over there", inside the federal court house. When we were done and my wife was standing in line to get her passport, I was near the incomming security check point and the staff there let me vape away, no problem. Folks this is a good sign, even the feds are reconizing that vaping is a safe alterative to smoking.

I know its not big news, but it does show that we can, bit by bit, show the world that vaping is not dangerous to others.

I wasn't going to try to vape in a courthouse, I asked how to get outside to the smokeing area and was told I could inside. I sat in a back corner and did my best not to be blatant about it, but I didn't hide it either. I figure with permission, being sensible and keeping out of the way, people could see me and understand I was not breaking any laws. I'm not trying to be a crusader, but I also want to do my little part in seperating us from the smokers. At work I don't make an issue about me having to go to the smoking area, or anytime I have to go to the smoking area, its a good way to get the word out to the smokers that vaping works, thats how I started vaping.

I figure that if we act a reasonable, which I'm sure most of us do, we can get the anti-smokeing crowd to understand more about vaping. I feel if we can get the anti-smoker group on our side instead of against us, we won't have the same problems we had as smokers.

Spent some time recently in Nevada (Reno-Tahoe area) and everyone was so cool about vaping. Allowed in the airport, no one said anything in a public building. I just quietly and semi stealthly vaped, didn't shove it in anyone's face, no big deal, no big production. Used it outside everywhere and no one said squat. Very nice.

I don't vape anywhere cigarettes are banned. I get the impression people still don't think it's cool and it could be interpreted as being arrogant. As long as they don't mess with my rights to get vaping products I don't care if I can vape in public places or not.

I agree. Unless it's explicit that I can vape, I don't. I can wait a few. It would be nice to just vape where we want but I think it gives a bad image if people just vape anywhere. You can educate people all you want. There's still going to be a few people glaring at you and those people are the one's you gotta worry about. The Crusaders get support from these people. Think about the children! The children! Sucks but that's how I see it. The only way to combat the Crusaders is to be clearly better than them. And even then you lose battles.

It seems to me more and more non smokers are realizing what ecigs are. I live in Texas and here outside at reastaruants you can smoke. So a couple weeks back my wife and I went out for some drinks and while we were outside on the patio I was vaping and actually had a non smoker come up and thank me for using an e-cig and not an analog. He said he wished all smokers would use one because he can't stand the smell when he is outside trying to eat.
