Smoking has been banned in public events that happen outside in Ottawa. Last month I was vaping during one such event. I didn't even think about it, but then a security agent came to me and told me that smoking was forbidden. I answered that I was not smoking. The guy was dubious and didn't seem to understand. I told him that I was vaping and showed him my mod. That day I was vaping with a grey e-lvt and a nimbus style dripper. Still the smoke-police agent didn't seem convinced. Fortunately I had just rebuild my coil and was using a colourless juice. I removed the dripper cap and showed him how harmless the whole thing look. I pressed the switch to show him the production of vapour without any sign of combustion. That convinced him and he let me vape for the rest of the event! I'm not sure if I could have convinced him if I had not been using a dripper or if I could only show a old darken aged coil.

Anyone have similar experiences?

It may look clean but you are using an addictive poison, nic, and I can certainly understand a random person not wanting to breath it in.

Even if you are not using nic the vast majority of vapers are and there is no easy way for a random person to know if you are.

I understand your point. Thank you for bringing it. Indeed I was using nicotine. However the event in question happened outside, in a non crowded area. There was plenty of space around me. Actually I didn't even think it that is was forbidden to smoke it this area. I was surprised when the security agent came to me, and I just explained to him that I was vaping, not smoking. Moreover, I was not blowing huge clouds. I totally think that we should never, as vapers, force anyone to breathe our vapour.

As for the health consequences of breathing the nicotine present in second hand vapour... is there any reliable study on the subject already? I don't know, but as a precaution, I prefer not to vape indoor in the presence of young children or pregnant women. Apart from this precaution, I've read that the exposure to nicotine due to second hand vapour is so low that it's very doubtful that it could have any effect on non-vapers that have no specific vulnerabilities.
