Hey all!

Just got my Ego-C kit on Aug 26th, and I'm on my second day without analogs.

I have just one concern...

I've been thinking about how my lighters never used to work properly during the winter. I'm wondering if it's the same thing with my vaporizer? I'm attending college to become a Veterinary Technician, so I'm pretty sure vaping in my building is completely out of the question.

Will I still be able to vape outside in a blizzard?! Are there any tips or tricks to vaping in the winter that I should know about? Anything I should avoid? Any way to protect my e-cig and juice from -20 temps?!

Or should I just sneak off to the bathroom and hope no one notices? Can non smokers smell this stuff?!

The juice won't freeze but the batteries may. It's the same as a cell phone. Put it in an inside pocket if outside for a long time. Just going out during a break would be no problem.

It's hard to imagine that you would be vaping something that smelled worse than a public washroom! Lol. I'm guessing nobody will mind the smell, just hide the vapor cloud. That, they will complain about.

Relax, Enjoy!

Hi welcome to the forums,

Congrats on the switch to Vaping.
In regards to the smell they can smell the flavorings, the stronger ones especially. But it wont smell like smoke. If your vaping Fruit flavors it will be more like the smell of chewing gum. Practice "stealth vaping" so your not exhaling visible vapor.

I haven't been vaping long enough to be exposed to the sub zero temps while vaping, but I cant imagine it being an issue unless you leave the PV in the sub zero temps, maybe the juice will freeze or the batt fail like some car batt at 40 below. Im sure someone will answer that tidbit for both of us because I'm curious now.

Well, the building I'm in for school is one of the "less trafficked" buildings. About 60 students use the bathrooms in that building, so it's not TOO smelly. :p

But I've got lots of non-smokers, and smoke-haters in my program. I agree, I should practise my stealth vaping! It will come in handy during those 4 hours lectures! :D

My favourite juice so far is the vanilla dream. So I'm guessing if I don't want to get in trouble, I should always use a fruity one at school, instead of my Royal Reserve or "Marleyboro" (Haha I always get a kick out of that name!), and stealth vape? :p

I liked the vanilla dream quite a bit. You may also like Jugheads Organic Vanilla - it has a really nice clean/smooth flavour, not too sweet.

I hadn't even considered the idea of what will happen to once the temperatures drop (the last couple of months I was more concerned with the heat and humidity spoiling the ejuice). I think keeping the ecig in an inside pocket would be the best solution if you're out and about in the frigid temperatures. I always made sure I kept my lighter in my pants pocket rather than my outer coat pocket.

The best thing about vaping is that you don't have to cup your hand around the ecig to get it started. The first couple of weeks I was vaping, I found my left hand automatically moving up to cup the ecig when I stepped outside to have a vape (work downtown where every street seems to be a wind tunnel).

I recently noticed that the Kanger T3 doesn't wick properly in freezing temperatures. I don't remember such behaviour from last year, but I was just beginning vaping using 510-T and eGo-T so I guess I just didn't know better. It could be the VG heavy juice I use. A carto does work better when freezing, but I did burn a carto in two days. Will try if a few drops of vodka makes a difference.

Wow .. old thread.

Freezing temperatures will thicken liquids. Distilled water, PG or alcohol like you mentioned should all thin them out a bit - you will of course be diluting the nic level a bit.
