I have tried and liked all of Halo's flavors- except for the new Southern- which I haven't gotten around to ordering yet, but the 2 coffee flavors are ones I simply can't vape. I love coffee, but not so much as an e-nic flavor.

I suggest getting the tobacco sample pack. Turkish and Tribeca are my favorites. Getting another kit won't solve any issues. Halo makes the best e-go type setup. I've never had the burnt taste, but I vape a lot of flavors, so never really get a coil or tank very hot. I take a few draws of a flavor, then move on to another. Slow down, take longer drags, and allow more time between drags.

All of you guys are truly awesome! Thanks so much for all the tips and I've learned a lot from the feedback here: I didn't let the little samples steep, I didn't shake before using (DUH!) and I don't feel like a complete idiot because it sounds like I'm not the only one that thinks Cafe Mocha flavor just sucks. I get that my taste buds are truly whacked right now so who knows, I may like this flavor a month from now.

I wish I had ordered more G6 mini tanks so I can sample more and find a flavor that's gonna do the trick. I'm going to a vape shop today to check some out. I really would like to get away from tobacco flavors cuz I think that tempts me more to crave/use analogs. And I'm going to read or watch a video on how to vape. I've heard long, slow drags and others have said short puffs like a cigar. Some say hold vapor in your mouth and never inhale, some say the opposite. I don't feel like I get much just holding the vapor in my mouth. It's weird to do that, at least from an analog smoker.

Thanks again!!!

Ok I have been off and on vaping since 2010 I was a pack a day Marlboro light smoker as well, I have tried vaping multiple times and recently with the ego-c battery and the iclear16 setup I have done amazing staying away from analogs I have tried coffee flavors but I used to smoke an drink coffee. Not good with trying to stop analogs:). Haha makes you want to smoke:). Some of the best favors so far.. And I hated menthol cigs. But 18mg chocolate mint and then to my surprise an 18mg gape have been the two that I fall on when I want an analog. Something completely different then an analog flavor:). Just my 2 cents:)

Hi,

You just need to find your sweet spot. It's pretty complicated when you start to understand all there is to know about e cigarettes, but the first step is to find a juice you like. Don't be fooled by "tobacco" flavors, a lot of them taste nothing like tobacco, but because they are very hard to describe, people just call them tobacco.

Good luck finding what suits you best :)

OMG Loughy! Your comment just freaked me out..I woke up this morning and thought if I really want to break away from tobacco taste..mayb I should try menthol! Too wild! I also hate menthol analogs but I love coffee..maybe a mint coffee chocolate something, who knows.

And tavalex, ur are right. If I can find a flavor that I love, then the vaping experience has to get better, right? My worry lately is that I'm trying so hard to like it. Kinda reminds me of the first time I picked up a stupid cig and tried it. I really hated it. I coughed my ... off, it tasted nasty and I thought I'd never try it again. But, working in the restaurant businesses then, being young and stupid, I kept trying it especially while drinking w/coworkers.....then next thing you know, you're hooked. It's like I forced myself to like cigs.

I feel like this all over again. I liked vaping a few times, but mostly its not been awesome..its like I can't find that sweet spot again. It's a LOT of work trying to get everything just right. All the equipment is confusing, mAh's, tanks, juices, coils, hell I don't even kno if I'm smoking the damn thing right..inhale, don't inhale. I have ZERO patience for stuff and it makes me remember the easy times of buying a pack of cigs, lighting and smoking. Nothing fancy, no worries of a battery blowing up in your face but the cancer/chemicals brings me back to reality that I've got to let analogs go.

Friend - you. are. not. alone! Having smoked the filthy analogues for 38 years I've just started vaping a few months back.
It is DEFINITELY very complicated, and hard to work out what is best for yourself - AND you spend a bit of money trying to work that out!
I started with a Provari (fairly expensive 'mod') which is kinda fool-proof (!) with cartomizers, and that worked quite well for me.
I used their juice as well - I quite like the *ProVape Sweet Tobacco* which is a bit like the old analogue smokes with a nice bit of 'honey' or 'vanilla' after taste. Now I have bought more complicated 'rebuildable' tanks / atomisers and I have NO IDEA what to do (and wasted HEAPS of money - although I will try and on-sell them I think!?)... so, take it slowly and find what YOU like.
BTW I am really enjoying vaping - when everything is working right! - actually prefer it to the old ciggies! Good Luck, and stay with it!

OP - you are getting alot of good advise, but I'll throw my opinion in on here as well since the wife and I have only been vaping for ~ 5 months (still new to this in the greater scheme of things). I'm not familiar at all with Halo gear...but sounds as though it locks you into them and only them.

We started with an eGo-C Twist 1000 mah ...Vision spinner is same thing. We put a simple Kanger T2 wick tank on it and tried a number of flavors. Note, only get SMALL sample bottles...smaller the better to save $$$$ until you find flavors you like. We've ordered a number of sampler packs from various vendors and are now really starting to find what we each (wife and I) like. So...suggestion: Generic battery where you can put just about any wick tank or cartomizer on it. Shop around for flavors. Also note, the PG/VG mixture could have an impact. HIgher PG is generally better flavor and throat hit. Higher VG produces more vapor. We like 70PG / 30 VG. Also, higher VG mixes are very think and if using a top coil (or carto with to small of holes) and are not careful, you'll get (or could get) dry hits and eventually burnt coils which then need to be replaced.

We've now gone up to a mod (larger tube with replacable battery) and are still trying new flavors from many different vendors but have our fav's which are kept in constant rotation. Keep rotating so you don't get burnt out. Also....like others have said, we moved away from tobacco flavored eLiquid real quick as it was to close to analogs.

It's not an overnight process but is a process that has benefits once you find the right setup and fluid that works for you. Relax and keep trying, it will get better. Best of luck to you!!

Somewhere out there
I will add a bit more since i have tried almost everything LOL! I have quite a few ego twists VV, they work but end up not working quickly for me. The Triton on the other hand is an ego style with 808 threads. These are better in my opinion than my ego twists. If you want VV Triton also has a VV model, I have that too, works great. But it is great for varying volts for flavors, fruits are better at lower volts, tobaccos, chocolates better at higher volts. Only draw back is it does not keep a charge as long as the regular Triton. But upside is the Tritons charge fast. Faster than the twists I have. I have two Triton chargers so I can charge 2 batts in 2 hrs, works great, never without a charged batt.

I have tried tons of clearos, my fav clearo is the Triton, works better for me than anything I have tried so far. Here is a tip with them, they work best full to 2/3 full. You sometimes have to take tip off and wipe droplets off the wick top sticking up. It also works best with juices that are a little thick, not pure PG. If I use a non Halo juice that is too runny I ad a few drops of pure VG to thicken it up, that makes it vape better in the clearos. Too thin a juice and you get way too much gurgle and no vape and leakage. Anyway just wanted to share what I have found to work. bnrk

SUCCESS...finally! First, thank you again for all of you that take the time to answer questions..vets and noobs alike. It truly helps. When I heard the responses, the first thing i did was take the caps off ALL of my eliquids. I went back to the vape shop to get new flavors yesterday and I tried on a whim because they told me to try it-Five Pawns....WOW! Talk about smooth awesome stuff. The one that caught my attention was Gambit which was like an apple, Carmel pie. It was Amazeballs! I don't even like apple as a real fruit. So I came home and popped in my Triton Midnight Apple Halo. Unreal. Tasted awesome!

I also now do three or 4 quick "prime" puffs...it took that burnt taste away!! Thanks to you guys, I know realize that a brand new tank/clero has to have time to get those wicks nice and wet. And the eliquid flavors pop more when steeped. I actually smelled the Cafe Mocha again last night and it smelled way better. I was fun shy to try it again, however because that burnt taste I got from it really had me close to quitting vaping. Anyway, thanks again. I highly recommend anyone who's willing to spend bucks on juice to try something from Five Pawns. I tried 3 of them and they were all incredible.
