I am only 2 weeks into vaping. Havent smoked in that time, Awesome! But vaping is seeming to lose its luster already. I set myself up with the lava tube 3.0 cartos and a couple of different flavors at a 50/50 pg/vg.
I have 3 cartos that I have only been using for 2 days each with a different flavor. I just can't seem to get that full mouth of vapor and nice relieving feeling of vapor in the back of my throat that I used to get. I am constantly adding liquid, seems I take 4-5 puffs and need to add liquid to produce the amount of vapor I am looking for, and even then it doesn't seem the same as when I first started.
I have changed the voltage back and forth, I have waited in between puffs to allow the carto to cool down and sometimes it seems to work but not always.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Gooch, some thoughts...what you may well be experiencing could be related to the detox process from the funkarettes...this can take some bit of time...upto a month orso in some cases...your tastes/taste buds undergo a process as they are renewed after years of smoking the funkies and have been known to cause some strange reactions/sensations...my only advice it to be sure and increase your water intake to help with the detox and to keep your soft tissues hydrated(vaping is drying)...or it could be, after that initial WOW from vaping, you are simply getting used to it...I dunno, if not the above then it could be ???????

Since you have a VV PV, I'll pick on the cartos & possibly your nic level as well. I've never been a fan of cartos...I'm an atomizer person all the way...specifically the 306 atomizer (it's 510 threaded). Many of the newer bridgeless & hybrid type attys are great too. I started vaping using a high nic juice to help combat that feeling you are having. If it wasn't for 36mg juice I wouldn't have made it a week. I'm down to 24mg liquid now, but that took some time to adjust to as well.

I have been vaping for nearly two years...and STILL have that problem some times. When it happens I reach for my "higher nic" at LR. Low resistance and higher nic gives me killer throat hit and it really wakes me back up to vaping.

LR to me is a 1.5 ohm atty at 3.7 to 4.8 volts, cartos never give me the TH I crave, but that is just me. Maybe give it a try ???

+1 to what madjack said. I had the same problem at about a month into vaping. I have accumulated a lot of juice and I rotate often. I have my favorites and some that are good but not favorites. When it seems like my favorites are starting to loose flavor I vape something else for a couple of hours. That seems to help. Also Hydrate, Hydrate oh yeah and one more thing Hydrate. It gets better.

I agree with all of the above!

The taste change process completely sucks for a week or two, every one of my juices lost their appeal. Keep at it, don't go back to those stinkies! You'll wake up one morning and the juices will taste better, and the next day better, and suddenly all your foods and drinks and vapes taste better than they did before you ever started vaping.

When it happened to me I found that I alternated between my most powerful vape (clove + tobacco), and my least powerful (plum) to give my tastebuds a kick. It worked, a little. Of course, I only had egos then so I couldn't adjust voltage and all that, but a LR atty did help!

i'd maybe try a different mix, maybe something 100% vg like boba's bounty...

I find varying up juices/hardware does the job when this happens to me, sometimes i also used something with a little higher nic in it.

also you may want to try a dual coil carto...they may give you a bigger throat hit w/a little hotter and thicker vape

Remember that your taste buds will undergo a change, as you recover from smoking. So much so that a juice you may have loved last week may taste awful this week. That's why a lot of new vapers begin a flavor quest. If you're not getting the throat hit you want, you might try juice with a higher PG content. Or, up your nic content. If it's the flavor you're lacking, use juice with higher VG content. Either way, stay with it. It's rare that new vapers discover their perfect vape right off the bat.

Let's review what you said. Lavatube, 3.0ohm cartos and 50/50 PG/VG juice. Unless you are using the LT at above 5v, you are not going to get any kind of decent throat hit. Add to that the fact that you are using 50% VG juice, the problem could be compounded even more. You may just need a lower ohm carto to give you that oomph when you are vaping. Keep in mind also that the higher VG juice will probably gunk up the coils on the carto causing them to lose their efficiency.

Recommendation: Either crank up the LT to higher power, or try lower ohm carto and higher PG juice. Do report back on your findings.

yes, some of the flavors i loved in the beginning are just awful now. tank idea is a good one. something you can flush out easily and refill anew is even better.

Ok, im currently using 24mg I guess I should get some 36 for times like these.

Not trying to refocus your moral compass, but I started 18 months ago at 11mg, and I'm still hovering at less then that. Finding the right hardware and juice combination is more important that just raising the nic level is what I'm trying to say. I used to be a pack or so a day smoker.

I will second all of what I've seen thus far but add a little more.

I started with $130 worth of crap. I'm very glad you didn't have to go through the over priced 4081 junk kits from the mall. I think what happened with me was that I was always feeling low and short of what I felt vaping could be. I have a feeling the LT is producing most of what one would expect (I will know more about that today when my postman gets here).

More than equipment and juice, which are important is the mind. It takes 21 days to make a habit (I know that varies depending on the source), I think you're up against the detox, this is where your body is still craving the other things that a cigarette provided you: Carbon Monoxide, cyanide, oxygen deprivation, and constant tissue damage. You're about to hit the good part my friend, and as is the case with most good life changes there is resistance. Stick to it, you're already so far ahead of where you were, you have no idea.

About my third week I began to notice a few changes, my lungs stopped hurting. I began to cough up almost a decade worth of death and destruction (not as bad as it sounds) and I could take the stairs at work with much less effort. I was more alert and awake in general, something I used to have to smoke to achieve. I was driving down the road in my car with the sunroof open (because I wanted to, not because I needed to air out my car) and I smelled the faintest, most amazing smell... flowers, honey, life. I realized that although I never felt I lost my sense of smell that it was better than I'd known.

There's better days ahead, some sacrifice is required.

Do try higher VG liquids, get different flavors, you'll be surprised. I hated menthol and now vape 2 brilliant menthol flavors, I gained a different palate and just had to adjust with it. Try things you don't think you'll like. Stay on the board and look at messages from all around and see what everyone's experiences are, even if you don't care, they're in the same boat or were. Do try dripping on to an Atty, I have to switch between dripping and tanks depending on my cravings at the time. Any 510 atty is fine for dripping, 306s will take some more effort and require a lot of adjusting your technique, if you've got the time and the patience go for it, but don't worry about special equipment. My debridged/dewicked 306 was not my favorite experience.

Above all, there are no right answers, there are no wrong answers. Taste is unique and so are people. Don't worry about fads, groups, personal politics, just enjoy the ride!

Ok so more than a little advice but I hope it is inspiring. Congratulations on stopping the coffin nails.
