Hello everyone. I was just wondering if there are other people that just want to vape to mess around with the smoke. I smoke hookah and I usually buy very low nicotine tobacco because I don't enjoy the buzz. If i was to get an ecig where i can fill it up myself what would you recommend? Are there good starting kits with 0 nicotine carts or e juice?

Quite a few place sell plain ejuice ; pg/vg combos. The higher the Vg the more vapor you will get. They also let you choose no nic. If you feel adventurous you can go to a pharmacy and get pure vegetable gycerin and propylene glycol, just make sure they are ones that are kosher or food grade. You can mx it half and half. If you do want some flavor almost all the companies let you order them without nic also.

I'd reccomend starting simple; I started with 808s and i'm loving them so far, easy 2 piece design. Smokeless image sells Volts that are supposed to be good, I've only tried their volt X2 and it's great; you can get the largest batter that will last for hours, it comes with a usb pass through cable so you can charge it while vaping at your computer, then detach the cable and vape on the go, plus you can get a couple of the smokeless image clearomizers(like 6.45 each i think) and a couple of bottles of e-juice(or just make your own) and you'll be off and running! I vape for the vapor too(I have two hookahs :p) and I'm starting to try to make my own juice; It's possible to make no nicotine flavorless juice to vape with out of just vegetable glycerin( can be found in the first aid section in pharmacies like CVS, RiteAid, ect. and it's sometimes called Andohydrous glycerin, 99.5% USP, something along those line; just ask a pharmacist or cashier or something. and distilled water you can buy anywhere really cheap( 1.29 a gallon in Massachusetts, at any grocery store). Just make sure your e-juice isn't too think, otherwise it won't work well in cartomizers. I'm still a newbie too, but I've read up on a lot and I can help you if you want, shoot me a pm with any questions and I'll do my best to get you answers :)

A lot of helpful info! Ive seen a lot of people mention the 510. I just want something portable that produces a lot of vapor with good flavor. I enjoy candy flavor but i just think carrying a hookah is too much of a hassle. I want to try to make my own e-juice once i purchase my first E-cig. I just need to find the right one at the right price.

I just got a vivi nova and ego-c twist batt and i'm loving it! I'm using DIY e-liquid I made, and it beats out any shisha I've ever bought or made. It's VG with a few drops of vodka and lorann's watermelon flavoring, no water added. I followed the DIY threads, search for them and read through them they're very comprehensive and informative. Very easy to do. The vapor quality and taste is phenomenal, much better than I could ever get my hookah and I was a master at heat management. I just switched over from hookah myself, the primary difference that I can tell thus far is it's much easier, almost no prep time, and constant high quality smoke. The only 2 downsides I can see are that my drip tip mouthpiece gets warm if I take too long of a hit which I find unpleasant and the airflow seems fairly restricted, coming from a hookah. I plan on modding my next PV, probably building from scratch. I'm definitely looking to increase the airflow without sacrificing vapor density and adding a threaded icepack tip or something in between the atty and the drip tip to keep it cool.

For hookah kinda guy look into the ego 650mah or higher to get the amount of vapor you are prob looking for:) Anything in an ecig is gonna be portable compared to hookah LOL

Awesome replies everyone. I'm looking around and It looks like its better to build your own. Like Castle said, he has a Vivi nova with a different brand of battery. Are there any kits like that which are better than A starter kit? I cant find the ego 650mah. only the battery. I might be too much of a noob to understand the language of the ecig.

I didn't buy a starter pack, literally the first things I bought were the ego-c twist, vivi nova, usb charger, and 99 cent drip bottle. I looked for a starter kit that mixed and matched but couldn't find any so I bought individually. If you're used to cleaning your hookah put the same care into your e-cig. Another reason I got the vivi nova was that you can replace the coil on it and use any 510 atty, so even when I mod my next PV i'll keep using the vivi nova. I want to rearrange things and make it look like a pipe, that would be satisfying haha.

Whats a good site to buy from? And about how much do you think my first buy would be if i were to buy your set up? I like that you can rearrange parts for your PV.

I also smoke zero nicotine. Most new vapors start with a cigarette-size vape, but tire of the short battery life and limited liquid content -- too much messing about. Others are perfectly happy, just carry a spare battery and extra cartos. If you want something reliable that will vape all day without changing batteries or cartos, I would look into the Echo. It has it's own thread on this forum. It also comes with about the best automatic switch, and I like that. Stick a Janty Kuwako on it, and it becomes a pipe. As a zero nic vapor, I have dropped PG altogether. I buy the VG in big bottles and put a little flavoring in it when I'm ready to refill my cartos. Welcome to the forum.

I was looking at altsmoke.com but ended up buying from litecigusa.com, which was more expensive but I was willing to pay as i'm impatient haha. Altsmoke was giving me billing problems as I tried to check out and customer service was not too helpful.

I started with disposable blu's then got a whole bunch of supplies for an m401 kit, which was alright, but switched to a mod and its absolutely great.. I agree to get a mod if you are accustomed to hookah...
here is a good kit (went to the brick and mortar location and bought one) extremely long battery, huge 6ml tank comes in the kit too... everything you need except for a chrger for 43, and they have a charger option for 8

this is the bigger size with longer battery
Mountain Vaporizer Mod

the smaller size with reduced (but still super long compared to ecigs that replicate ciggies)
Mini Mountain Vaporizer 18350 mod

both provide the same voltage and both come with a huge tank, best of all, they are affordable

I suppose I vape and get some satisfaction observing the visual of the vapor. I think I'm more hooked on the Compulsion of the hand to mouth thing. I've been 0Nic0FA, Zero Nicotine, Zero Flavor Added, for more than 9 months now. Last couple of weeks I've been experimenting with no inhaling. JMHO

Cheers,
