Well I can certainly see that point of view Isaac. Im really not sure where I stand in the end. I have honestly considered it from every angle. I think we all know its only a matter of time until the government gets involved on a larger scale. I also think we all know we will evnetually be required to pay a tax of some sort. I honestly only see liquid being regulated in the end. Maybe that is wishful thinking....
The real push we need right now is harm reduction. Not only in the e-cig
sense, but all forms of tobacco harm reduction. Punishing those that are trying to take a positive step towards a healthier lifestyle is insanity on part of the government, not to mention a poor "business" decision. Ultimately Harm reduction will reduce government expenditures far more in terms of health related costs than the revenue from taxation will ever produce. Sadly, they cannot see further than the short term.
Involvement is the only thing that we have at this point to sway the overall outcome. The president has no real power, the FDA in the end is somewhat limited. Showing our representatives that there are enough of us to hurt them at the polls is what will win the war.
I wont get into my political opinions of Obama... I will say he cannot afford to alienate a single voter at this point. I dont see him making a move that will have potential of costing him a vote. I most likely see the petition being ignored and swept away.....
